I don't understand not getting anything at all from a strain. I even squeeze trim and get a decent amount.
Every strain i've ever squished produced pretty decent. I press in the 200 degree range...it's slow, but more terpy and creamy.
Posibly your temp was too low to induce a good melt...I dunno. The lower the temp the longer it takes to melt and flow. I have a 20 ton press and it always produces with 90 micron bags filled to the max. Extra empty bag will suckup the rosin......maybe that was it? Not full enough.

I’m going to build GBs press , probably in the spring, be easy enough to just do two.
I’d take you up on that deal when the weather is warm, Bring the fly rod n make a week out of it.
The Okanagan is very nice .

done....come by the end of July...I goto Tunkwa Lake every first week of August for a break...I'll provide the flies, cabin, boat-motor-gas...actually I go up there 3 times a yr...mid May after the yard is populated...mid July I goto Grand Forks for the Fly BC Kettle River drift weekend with my budz...then early Aug at Tunkwa.for the bomber run...then mid Sept at Tunkwa to prepare for harvest late Oct...then I hibernate...I'm hoping to have a travel trailer by spring...if not you kin use my 14ftx8ft trim tent as a sleeping area...lemme know...))

oh...I have long hair, a beard, and smoke cannabis....lol

Seen some peeps using large presses, my concern is after the butane is purged, assuming they did it right, what's left? I've seen really high percentage wax and oil and even clear concentrate, but still not 100 %thc. What else is In bho ? Is there bi products?

Other cannabinoids, plant waxes, butane residue, and fats.

keep your rod at home...I run a Fenwick 9ft 6 wt...and my own built rod 10ft 5 wt...I have reels and lines for all situations...and flies...no need packin' more than you need...)


and yes...the resort is smoke friendly...outside..owner are my buddies...they know the deal...)

First, I apologize for the "jerk" comment. Not to make excuses, but I have had a bad couple of years and it is not fair of me to take it out on someone else, especially a stranger.

Exactly though, how one strain will produce over 5 others just doesn't make sense to me. Unless lower grades are better for this? Or, my parchment paper is a bad brand? I have Reynolds Kitchens Genuine Parchment Paper. It has been great for baking!

As mentioned previously, with each strain I used a variety of temperatures and times. The lowest temp I used was 170 and worked up to 350 or so. Each time, same result for the strains that seemed to only evaporate rather than produce rosen.

I don't keep my trim, so not able to try that. Maybe in the future after the next harvest.

Sure would like to know the why's and all that. I am interested in solventless for the health factor of the person making the oil (me). Not so concerned with consuming, just the making. I am sure that making concentrates over the last 8 or so years, I have inhaled a large quantity of fumes, a heck of a lot more making it over consuming. I include 200 proof ethyl, not good to breathe in those fumes either.

Have you watched any Youtube vids? You'll see that most folks get at least some sap. I wasn't trying to be rude I really mean seening is better than me explaining. You should see those basic results.
Can you post a picture of the setup your using?
It can vary by strain but unless it's completly resin-less you should see some stuck to the parchment. The better the bud the better the end result volume wise and of course quality.
I'm sure the paper you have would be fine. I've tried 4 or 5 brands and mostly the same deal really.
I've never used more than 260 for temp. 350 is way too hot imo. 200-220 is my usual temp.
Show me the rig you have and i'll know more.

you could easily buy the metal //drill holes rather than weld and bolt the thing together using different metela pieces fo parts. YOu dont need an I beam you could use u channel and bolts. It'll still cost you around 100 per press in metal parts. At least you get the size down this way..
you can buy a different jack and make it much smaller. Although the price would go up

I’m an ex welder , gluing the steal together is the easiest part . I got friends with lots of stock kicking around. The i beam is getting pretty heavy duty tho, I’d probably go with HSS

I hate to say it but I have had opposite results than what you describe. My best strains do not produce any rosin, even at 200. Any lower, it would not do anything. The only strain that produced any rosin was my lowest potency strain, Strawberry Cough (DutchPassion).

Coincidentally, SBC is the only strain I have that is considered a sativa even though it has indica leaves. Maybe that's the trick? Querkle worked a little bit, but it is also a high sativa pheno compared to any other strain I have.

If your strains are what you say they are..... the problem is that hair device.
That's like trying to cook a decent meal on an Easy Bake Oven.
You need a real press. You will need to spend some to get the correct result.
That's your issue.
Maybe buy some rosin to make sure you like it first....yes...NO solvent....very nice.
If = yes....spend some and grab small setup...careful what you choose....ask if your gonna buy one.
If you get a decent one...you WILL get rosin.

Yes it's the pressure. If your weed has resin on it then issue is the straightner. Any weed even trim will produce rosin as long as it has some frost on it to begin with. It's not the weed that is your issue.
Some folks use one of these on the hair straightener. Careful you can break your hair devise.

Probably cost you as much as the straightener. Borrow one if you can just to see if you can give it the pressure you really need.

Due to the lack of response to my queries, I will conclude that rosin is not for me or my patients. My newest patient has sampled many different forms of extracts, Rosin included, and he seems to like my QWISO over anything he has smoked or vaped. Otherwise, he prefers premium decarboxylated alcohol extract, RSO for example, concentrated cannabis oil in an indigestible form. He did mention that he would never consider ingesting RSO from a dispensary ever again. He will get the buds and make his own before that ever happens.
