Long taproot, seedling not growing??

Hey lads n lasses,

Just a quick one... My White Rhino seedling has been above ground for a week, under a 23w CFL and it's nice and green except the ends of the round leaves are a bit yellow but it hasn't grown. The stem appears strong and it's pointing towards the light fine. Grown in peat inside a paper cup

The tap root is shooting down and quite long in comparison to rest of plant. I've just transplanted to a bigger pot.

Is tther anything I need to worry about? The soil is damp and temps 20-24 degrees C and humidity 30-50%.

If there's an equivalent for RDWHAHB (Relax, don't worry, have a home brew) in the home grow world, this is it.
It'll start pushing out new leaves soon.
Roots growing are always good.

And that peat is a bit acidic keep that in mind when watering also don't let it dry to much cause peat likes to repel water for a bit so drainage and proper watering all the way through are affected and when those dry clumps in the middle of the pot don't get wet they become acidic I'm currently running in a 60% peat mix and have had to fight these issues

Take a handful of nice dark living soil outdoors, run a cup of water through it and catch the runoff, and water it with that. It will contain humic acids and bacteria and fungi.
The quicker they can convince the plant that all is under control and it will be looked after the quicker that rootball explodes.

Wish I had some of that soil around me lol instead I'm in the middle of the desert so just amended my soil in the pot

If you have any weeds growing (I know those fuckers are tough. I live near Cape Town we have a 50 liter per person water ration) Pull them out and rinse off the roots, use that water.

There is a special relationship between seeds and the microbiology in soil. I can link you a really good video, it is slightly long though.

i'm hydro guy, but got a case of root rot, so i started putting my clean clones in peat/perlite, 60/40%.

what i am finding is my run off is extremely acidic, so i got some lime to mix with it. doesn't take much.

Get that humidity up aswel. Looks very low
