You are right, Hamas didn't say those words precisely. Also, Hamas has greatly amended their stance, depending on interpretation.

This is their most recent charter. In it, there is no mention of protocols of zion or "killing all jews" everywhere but, what is the zionist project? It doesn't really clarify in the charter.
In any case, there is no mention of a two state solution or recognizing Israel but it is a more modern and enlightened document compared to the 1987 one that Marwan continues to support.
I'm beginning to understand why a one state solution is probably the only one that can last. I don't see a path forward for this either.
