Another white guy gun massacre.

Why not regulate all of them more heavily? I don't care if it's a flintlock or a Glock that was used to kill people. Before you go all moron on me, I'm not saying "take away all guns", I'm saying take the "well regulated" part of the 2nd seriously.
Define "regulate".
It's actually a very complex issue.

I totally agree that the issue is complex. A complex issue should be studied and regulations should be thought through. An example of what not to do was the assault rifle ban that ended a while back. Congress makes it illegal for heath agencies to even study how to reduce deaths due to firearms. How about we end that ban for starters?

That's a good start.
It would also be nice if the ATF wasn't forbidden from having a searchable computer database of firearms transactions.

Complex issue indeed. While I think we should be able to own a handgun for self defense (after a background check), these guns like an AR15 I think should be banned. No one needs a semi-auto like that to defend themselves. To shoot as fast as you can pull the trigger. Over and over these are used in these mass shootings. The majority bought legally. A lot of these people aren't clinically mentally ill either. They blend into normal society. There wasn't really red flags for mental illness for the Las Vegas shooter and there are many troubled young males out there that have problems in high school. But its like every few months, a shooting - it's copycat mass shootings. Ban the guns like an AR15 is my opinion.

The mass shooting thing is a recent trend.
But guns like the AR-15, AK-47, etc have been in civilian hands a very long time.
What has changed? The root cause is obviously not the availability of "assault style" weapons...

My point was these have been copy cat mass shootings since... Columbine. So the availability of the gun was there earlier. The culture of mass shootings is based on precedent. What is the motive? A powerless feeling person making a name for themselves like those before him?

well there are places in rural america where an ar-15, a suppressor and night vision are needed. and that is when hunting feral hogs that are tearing up someone's land that they depend on for their livelihood.

problem is, this is the same culture that is producing most of these white mass murderers.

And keep in mind that the assault rifle ban Bill Clinton passed was a HUGE bonus for the gun industry. And it did very little to prevent crime.
I've heard that gun sales were down since Trump took office because he's pro NRA.
But now that we've had another school shooting with an AR-15, expect sales of that particular firearm to spike.
It never fails... :dunce:

Also, there is mounting evidence that pharmaceuticals...antidepressants, psychiatric drugs are linked here. Seems like ever time there's a mass shooting you find out the perpetrator is on this shit. If you change the chemistry of the brain drastically what can happen inside the mind? Lack of empathy and impulse control...Its like serial killers are often past victims of brain injury combined with childhood violence, environmental factors .

Ok, if someone actually needs an AR15 for feral hog control...lol... there should be a strict license for special use like that. Any dipshit 19 year old should not be able to buy one.

Bill Clinton! Hillary's emails! Waaah. Republicans and Democrats are both complicit to the gun lobby. The NRA did start as a gun safety, gun control entity but are now bought and owned by the gun lobbyists. Trump is a nightmare! At least democrats push more gun control. Republicans are no gun control - ever. None.

The NRA, bought by the gun lobby. FDA, bought by big pharm. It goes on and on. Corporate lobbyists bought American democracy a long time ago. Trump is Corporatism in fast forward. We will have a fascist police state pretty quick with this administration. How can you defend this asshole?

War is a racket and those kids are pawns. So you agree with me.
I agree that war should be questioned. It should be questioned because it often uses offensive force as a substitute for persuasion, it violates the peace and harms innocent people. Which is also what "gun control" does.

People who use guns offensively would love to have their targets unarmed, it makes it much it easier to violate and control them.
