I own a pair of cxa 3070's that are from when doge coin was possible on a 7990.. yeah im also a bitcoin douche. they are getting long in the tooth lets just say.

I found a "50" W Chinese Blurple for like 15 bucks US... i donno about you, butt fuck it seems to come up in my thought patterns....

Looks interesting.. I wish they had a spec sheet.. can't tell much without it.. The flood light version is white light and cheaper.. I may try one..

Yeah, I don't see the point of adding blurple to white light COBs. They already have a strong blue and red peak anyway.

the heatsink alone is good for 100Ws' according to my math.. could care less about chips. ill buy vero 29's or citizen 1818's if the chip blows.. some modding required.. i dont see a driver which scares me

See that first black lump after the power cable goes in? That's your driver.

There's a LOT of heat to move from that thing, by my reckoning, I wouldn't trust it being on at least 12 hours a day, 7 days a week, for a couple of months, not without checking temps VERY carefully.

One I have wondered is what would you get if you used a 50w r7s LED replacement in an old halogen floodlight, something designed to dissipate a LOT of heat and reflect a fair old whack of light.

im thinking of putting a 10 inch fan right next to it. i dont ever passive cool anything

like the 5w cree led flashlights? people use those same chips all the time. in fact i think some use 10w chips now
