that all I have ever used....maybe not as accurate as a meter but it doesn't hurt (in most cases) to have a slight variationHey pal, maybe you could save money and just use the liquid shaker with the dropper bottle.
It's close enough for the plants were growing. I actually sold my meter because it's just more hassle. The liquid dropper Its super fast and you know for sure that it's calibrated every time
Oh you have a three way soil meter. You want a ph pen. I use a jellas brand meter. I think if I where to use one again id get the blue labs. The good old drops are the best though imo. Thanks everyone. I'll look into the bluelab, and just may go with the drops afterall .
@GeneBanker, it failed by not sensing well. It had a sensor for moisture, and even just after I watered the plants, it would read "DRY".....ugh. And, the PH would read too low. I messed up also, and over fertilized it, meaning it wasn't just the meter . I had been reading threads on using PH, and misunderstood. SO, between the meter and my little pea brain, I had yellow leaves dropping everywhere. I've got to get it better this year. My yield wasn't as good as it should have been.
THIS^^^^ Follow this and you should get maximum life and accurate sample readings from whatever pH meter or pen you get.@Susanne Whatever brand of pH pen you decide to use. Its Important that you also pick up a solution of 4.01 and 7.0 pH reference solution to calibrate it and to keep it calibrated. Rinse the tip after each use and store the node in either RO water or the 7.0 reference solution. It's a sure fire way to keep your pH meter accurate it's entire life.
Exactly what I do. Except now I'm itching to upgrade to cmh and now I figure well I could just spend.way too much and get the gaurdian and a new chillerAlso...its what Ive been doing for years...is to get a cheapy 20 dollar yellow pen or the color drops for backup. Whenever you suspect something is off or just not the norm with your regular go to meter..you can back it up and/or get confirmation of whatever your trying to do with pH.
If your recirculating your nutrient solution in a nice reservoir..the Blue Lab Guardian is probably the best in its class. That thing is pricey but worth every frikin dime. Total tank and crop insurance. You cant grow wrong with the Guardian.Exactly what I do. Except now I'm itching to upgrade to cmh and now I figure well I could just spend.way too much and get the gaurdian and a new chiller
