Regular seeds or fem?

I'm sure it is. It's a PNW strain going back decades. He was established here in Eugene. His son is running the next gen side of the business under the name JD Short.

Edit; he goes by JD Short but the seed company is Second Generation Seeds.
Will check it out for sure.

I should say... most of the old school growers in southern BC were west coast vietnam draft dodgers... lost of family connections down the coast...

I have to correct myself again. It's Second Generation Genetics, not seeds.

Well i checked him out.
All he is selling are f1 hybreds, which is exactly what i was carping about. Pollen chuckers specials...

Maybe he is a good breeder, but he is selling 1st gen crossbreeds right now. That pisses me off. Polluting the gene pool.... an all...

Hopefully he will take those through the 8 gens required to stablize...

Look here

http://www.peakseedsbc.com/

He has a couple f1 hybreds, but i dont know why he calls them that. They have been around for years longer than it takes to go through the 8 generations. So even his f1s are actually true, stabilized new strains.

$40 for 20 pack of reg seeds for top shelf weed.
Guy doesn't do fems.

This guy is a true breeder.

I checked the sites out. JD Short and Peak Seeds. It was the first time that I actually really looked at Second Gen. Peak definitely has a couple of things that I've already been interested in and probably the best prices around.

If you're going to breed. Start with landrace strains. Make your own. Don't combine crosses from others. Get regular seeds. Males are good. Take care of them like you would a mother plant used for clones. To breed properly you need males. Forget the silver reverse sexing. You need real males and real male pollen.

There's a few landrace strains I'd like to get but saying that people wanting to get into breeding should start with nothing but landrace strains is like saying that someone wanting to get into performance auto mechanics should start by reinventing the wheel.

Fug, I'd kill for some pondo, haven't seen that in 20 years...

Used to be you only got shitty swazi, pondo and durban poison.

I remember rolling mountains full of pondo stoppe with the rastas.
It is a local way of rolling about a gram of weed into a small square of paper. Its all just eyed, no measurement.

The one I want to find is the Ethiopian Sativa.

You do have a valid argument.
Why change what works?
Most of the popular strains took years of work to create. Starting from the beginning doesn't make sense unless you want to create something yourself. That's where I am. I'm doing this as a hobby and look forward to puttering around with my plants into old age. That doesn't mean I'm not open to bringing in established strains. I just want to play with the basics and see what I can create.

Pondo has an awesome old school cannabis smell. In fact, if there is one strain that just sums up all the old school strains it would be that one.

There's definitely nothing wrong with that. I'd like to work my way up to doing the same thing. Gotta start somewhere though.

My biggest issues with how most "breeders" operate these days is that they don't preserve the old genetics and with all of the short cuts taken by selfing and back crossing we are likely to see a serious bottle neck in genetic diversity. I wouldn't be surprised if in another five years or so every single popular strain is a second or third cousin of cookies, blue dream or chem dog.
