First run with coco and I already made the mistake of under watering and under feeding them in solo cups.
By the 3rd week they would drink everything in the solo cup overnight and the next day the top of the coco was bone dry and the cups light.
My mistake was thinking I can follow a set schedule and just water every other day in veg but leaving the coco dry like that between waterings they started to wilt and by week 4 the first set of leaves on one
plant was even crispy and dead.
Transplanted them in 1 gallon fabric pots and watered them every other day because the bigger pots take longer to dry out. They started to perk up but now after a few days in the new pots they are starting to wilt again even though the coco wasn't bone dry for that non watering day.
They are also eating a lot more than expected. By the 3rd week they were showing signs of nitrogen and calmag deficiency (yellowing leaves with spots) I was giving them full dose of calmag and a little over 1/4 strength veg nutes well over 500ppm.
Now within the 4th week I'm giving them over full strength calmag and 1/2 strength veg nutes and I'm still not sure if it's enough. The new undergrowth looks lush dark green but most of the leaves are light green in early and late stages of deficiencies.
My question is for next time how much do you guys feed them in coco for veg and do you reduce it by flower?
Using fox farm trio and following the schedule but cutting it down to 1/2 big bloom which is organic and for the grow big around 1/8 to 1/4. Maybe because the big bloom is organic and kind of weak the plant needs full feedings of that specific bottle. Thinking about switching to GH micro after the big bloom runs out.
