Quality LED for VEG

At this moment im going with 6 G8 900w leds and 12 of their 90w flower boosters for my 100-120 sqft 12 plant flower room. If anyone thinks that is a bad idea, lmk.

Next, i need to choose a solid light for vegging, and would like to keep total cost under 1k. I also want LED here. Right now im thinking 3-4x 600w viparspectra..but am getting confused bc there are a crap ton of cheap leds claiming all sorts of stuff. Can anyone confirm the VS 600s will veg well, or point me in a better direction?

Also, i know DIY QBs and COBs are the best/smartest way to go. But im not trying to go down that rabbit hole. Any input appreciated...thanks.

600w viparspectras run about ~240 wall watts, off the top of my head. What size veg space? If u do go with those I'd go for 30w/sqf
From research here on the forum, they don't perform well for flower. But will be suffice for veg no problem

is viparspectra a low quality light, or high quality light@CobKits ?
i would say low quality.
I wouldn't buy one personally.

What would be a high quality light that is not a diy qb or cob?
I use a unit farm UFO 80 led light, I'd like to know if that's low quality also.

I’ll preface this statement with the fact that i know just about nothing when it comes to growing and or lighting. Brand new, trying to learn....unfortunately tonnns of misinformation out there.

With that being said, i was under the impression that during the veg cycle, plants use more/only the blue and white parts of the light spectrum, and very little red. And the red portion is used greatly in flower.

So i just assumed that if a light performed better or had more output in a certain color band...that it could perform worse or better in different growth phases. I now also assume im wrong about this? and even more confused lol

preassembled qb or cob like HLG or timber or pacific light concepts or chilled or even amare or california lightworks or fluence

while the price may seem steep on these (vs DIY) they are a far better value than a lot of the 'hyped' prefab units. everybody above actually lists the diodes they use and provide real PPF measurements (maybe timber aside - great product but im not sure if they have actual photometric data or just datasheet calcs+ spot measurements- i may be wrong about that)

I can personally vouch for CLW. I have an old Solar Storm 440 (osram) that is the one of the only 'blurple' panels worth a shit in my opinion and I've seen great results from the new solar system units.
However.... the HLG QB kit that I am using now is killing it and I don't know that I'll ever buy an off the shelf panel again.

I am looking to diy a light in the near future that will use my QB in the center with COBs at the corners and possibly some deep red diodes thrown in. I'd love to bounce some design options off you at some point.

Does anyone here have experience with the G8 900w, or know someone who has used it? Everything ive seen on it says its a quality light...but at this point im wary of the majority of feedback out there. Im most concerned with that...as we are going to be spending most of our investment outfitting the flower rooms with those units.

I hadn't heard of it..... after a quick google search, I turned up an RIU thread from 2013,
somebody had the ACTUAL power draw listed in that thread, for the "900w" version, it was drawing 640w....The company website has a claim that this "900w" will equate to 1400w of HPS, which is quite misleading.
That's the issue with marketing in off the shelf LED grow lights. 300 x 3w diodes, does not make a 900w light, its the drive current level provided to those diodes that really matters.
That being said, I don't doubt that it can produce, however when buyers are basing the purchase on exaggerated claims of photon output, less than expected results are imminent....
