Awh thanks! No need to be jealous, you will have some just like that soon enoughBeauties!!! I’m jealous!
If you rinsed it at all let alone an hour I wouldn't bother running again. The more it's agitated the more it'll produce clay dust.Unfortunately, the only way for me to rinse the hydroton is to remove that little seedling. To be ho eat I dont think she’s going to make it anyway - her two first leaves are still super tiny and raised stright up. And they look dry too, as you can see here:

Her sister - on the other hand - looks pretty ok:

Ya its being splashed with that wand is why she is like that... Push it down and she should recover..Unfortunately, the only way for me to rinse the hydroton is to remove that little seedling. They do make 10" bucket top lids. I think hydrofarm does.To be honest I LIKE the drip ring ... I think if both plants were in a system with that drip ring from day 1 they probably would be further along than they are now :-/
Hell, I’d like to merge the two systems somehow. I think there is too much hydroton to deal with in the WaterFarm against such a small reservoir. But the DWC bucket could benefit from a SLIGHTLY larger net pot lid and the addition of the drip ring. Not to mention both need an access port at the TOP to pull samples from and to add water/nutrients.

Don't use the 10 inch. The res is WAY too small. I have 6 new ones I'll never use. They do make 10" bucket top lids. I think hydrofarm does.

That's going to eat up a lot of water room tho
Actually, she’s been like that since she sproutedYa its being splashed with that wand is why she is like that... Push it down and she should recover..
I can tell. She is gonna get stem rot if we dont rectify it asap.Actually, she’s been like that since she sprouted
Your gonna pull the rooter out of the netpot?????Well she’ll have to come out tonight when hubby helps me make that access port because it means drilling a 1”hole in the bottom of the bucket that holds the hydroton so we can get an access tube up through it.
it should push down and I wouldnt cut that as it is piped a certain way to get it to work that way. Its called the venturi effect...Keep seedling in net pot when he drils. No worries, also, have your hubby cut an inch or two off of the drip rings stem, it will lower it. (Have him measure how far it needs to come down) hope this helps!
but i misunderstood what she meant but i think i got it.. He is gonna cut a hold and put 1/2" uniseal, that way he can put a clear blue tube to see water level and to remove some for testing... My bad..Keep seedling in net pot when he drils. No worries, also, have your hubby cut an inch or two off of the drip rings stem, it will lower it. (Have him measure how far it needs to come down) hope this helps!
Lol - well, yeah ... how else aee we foing to cut a 1” hole below the hydroton and put in a 1”tub theough all the hydroton? Besides, leaving it in situ WHILE he drills will likely be way more traumatic - no?Your gonna pull the rooter out of the netpot?????
Right, you have to be careful not to cut the tube in the center, and have to cut both pieces equally to keep it still working. I had to do this because it would go down no further :/it should push down and I wouldnt cut that as it is piped a certain way to get it to work that way. Its called the venturi effect...
No, we’re not cutting that tube - its a whole new tube we’re installingRight, you have to be careful not to cut the tube in the center, and have to cut both pieces equally to keep it still working. I had to do this because it would go down no further :/
