This is my 3rd grow (read newb).
Last year I grew 3 strains at once( AK, bubblegum, and Sour Diesel). Harvested and hanged them for a week and then into mason jars. no problems.
This year I did this same thing (1 week hanging and then into the jar). The strain is Northern Light.
While I'm curing, I open the jars for about 1 hour twice a day. Today, I noticed white fuzz. I knew immediately that I'm throwing most of this away. I scrutinized each nugg carefully and if it had any hint of mold, I tossed t in the trash. I ended up throwing out about 1/2 of it and moved the rest into a grocery bag labeled "Suspect Weed" to finish drying.
Fortunately even if I end throwing the remainder away it's not a total loss. I harvested over the course of a week so I still have quite a bit hanging.
I think the difference between last year'r harvest and this year's is that Northern Lights is a much denser bud than the strains I grew last year.

Anyway, this is what I learned today.
I thought I would share my shitty story.

yep, mold happens when wet vegetable material is sealed in a jar, right after fermentation. were you making wine? lol

Ive done this before:

what you could do is dip the bud in warm water and household bleach..about 5-10%

then dip again in clean water to wash the bleach off

hang to dry ...

it turns the mold to glue/shit and kills it fast

looks horrid but is safe to eat in cookie etc

as for toking ...not me lol

As others have said wash the buds (I normally use Hydrogen peroxide).

And /Or then make hash. Few things you can use including Ethanol.

That's just for pm. You can also filter it out with, I believe, a 20 micron filter stack in a sealed bho extractor. This isn't pm.

me either, that's why i flood it in alcohol and take the gummy leftovers

Does hydrogen peroxide kill mold?
To kill mold: Pour 3% concentration hydrogen peroxide into a spray bottle. Saturate the moldy surface completely and leave it to sit for ten minutes. Next, scrub the area to remove all of the mold and mold stains. And finally, wipe the surface down to remove residual mold and spores.

Again, killing the mold won't remove any potential toxic byproducts from the mold. I'll just leave it at that.

Hydrogen Peroxide is a sterilizer.... As far as I'm aware it kills and sterilizers all by-products that could possible come from mold. Which toxins are you thinking of?

I believe that he's talking about mycotoxins. While the h2o2 will kill the mold, the toxins will still be present. That's why it isn't a good idea for an immuno-compromised person to ingest tainted products.
