Wow - THAT much ph & ppm drift overnight???

And what LED you got?
Its the MaxBloom 400w X4 - supposedly full spectrum.

Right now its about 16” above the babies with the veg set at 30% and the bloom waaaaay down at 10 (mainly cuz I cant see only 10% of the veg only light doing much for growth!) .... though I admit to being clueless in this regard!

  • If you look at them 2 pics, what do you notice right off the bat? How wet the plug and the hydroton is compared to the dwc bucket. If it was me, i would put the WF (waterFarm) on a timer for 5 to 7 days. I want it to dry out a little so the roots will push out like theyt do when they are searching for water. I would do 3x day for 15 mins... Just my opinion...
That’s kinda my point - that scrawny one has been like that from the start - and when I was misting the rapid rooters while they were in the humidity dome she was still the scrawny one. I put them in the buckets on Friday and since then the little one actually has grown - which I didnt really notice until I looked at her day-to-day pics. Take a look (appears better)

Now, I can easily close off the air hose going to the water column and just open it up for a bit at 4am (when I get up), 4pm (when I get home), and 11pm (before I crash for the night).

And that’s a good opinion and if not you’ll possibly lose it :(.

Although my setup is different and my cube is buried down in the hydroton so light doesn’t hit it I flood about an 1/8” above the bottom twice a day to start. You should cover the cube if possible to stop any algae as well, Good luck!
Yeah - that’s in the plan as soon as those stems get a BIT taller ... I’m afraid of crushing them right now.

She is pretty water logged now. Idk.. We might be able to save her tho..
idk if you got a timer but if not you can just shut it off completely and hand water for a few days.
I know your prob like but dang it, that is why I bought this damn thing, so it could water itself!
And Im with you on that! lol
Im getting ready to run 8 of them and you can watch me...
I make a thread, and you guys can sub, and follow along.
I go thru cloning all the way to harvest in the waterfarms, as well as Current Cultures flagship hydro unit. New $1200.00
I will also be running 10 pots on a ebb and flow made by CAPP..
We also more than likely do some Rockwool in a 4x4 table for veg too..
I throw a link up for you when I get it made...

Just showing how one could get setup WITH automated watering for $150-200.
that is light, 4" fan & filter, tent, 400 watt light,,,
a $8 tote, $14 pump,
6 head drip emitter,
and a timer that does min intervals at least 3 to 7x a day.

It does, but my buckets sit directly on the floor, which means draining enough out via that tube is difficult at best. No worries though, the problem is resolved :)
Get yourself a little drill pump to drain your tubs. I only do a nute change after the stretch if I get around to that at all. Doesn't seem to make any difference and being a lazy old fart I tend to do the whole DWC grow with no changes. I just monitor the ppm and trust my pH Perfect nutes to keep the pH right. Also use good RO or distilled water so the water isn't messing me up.

I have my Rubbermaid tubs on wheeled dollies so it's easier to move them around tho sitting them on the cold cement floor helps lower the temps a couple degrees C.

Once I put clones in a tub I just hand water with a turkey baster for a few days until roots start coming out the bottom of the net pots then they're on their own. Waste of time to top feed past the first week or so. All the feeder roots are swimming around in the nutes and the roots in the net pots are just pipelines that can't absorb nutrients anyway. Keeping the pot soaked will lead to rot. 50+ tubs and counting and I've never lost one to problems.

If you haven't already got decent air pumps get one. I've tried lots of aquarium pumps over the decades and they always screw up but recently got a couple of EcoAir commercial grade pumps and they are great! Bought the Air Pump 5 new for $115 with the 8 outlet manifold and recently got a smaller version from a buddy with a 6 outlet manifold for $50. The small one puts out 793gal/hr and the 5 does 1300gal/hr.

The big one is running the aeration for my dugout that supplies water for my house. Need to get a new diffuser out there as it's just blowing big bubbles right now and not getting us nice clear water. Bit grey and stinky but not horrible. Had a freeze up last winter and damaged the coil of weeper hose I use to make tiny bubbles.

I'm pissed off with the 12" airstones I use in my tubs. Seems like only the first 6-8" bubbles and nothing comes out the ends. Got an idea how to make my own air supply by chopping that weeper hose to make a big circle in the bottom of the tub and placing a length of 3/8" SS cable inside to keep it on the bottom. 25' weeper hose for $15 on sale and I bought two. You know the hose I mean. That stuff you buy to water your garden with that just sweats the water out and drips in the garden. Put air in there and the bubbles come out really tiny like champagne bubbles and really load the water up with O2.

Still churns the water up better than the aquarium pumps do.

Yup - got a liquid transfer pump! And I have to distill my own water cuz my well water SUX big time.

My airpump is the Vivosun 960gph pump; it controls the (2) 4” airstones in the DWC and (1) 4” airstone in the bottom of the Water Farm as well as the Water Farm’s drip ring. Nice thing about the pump is I can just turn that valve off forthe drip ring - which I did last night per @Homie Da Clown ‘s advice and then on this morning for just a few mins :-)
