First DWC Grow Progress- Week 4

I thought I would post some progress photos since this is my first DWC and see if anyone has any feedback for me. The girls are healthy and happy.

(5 of 6 went into the buckets at the same time, the little guy is a week and a half behind due to a failed seed).

I'm growing four strains:

2 Chemdawg
2 King Tut
1 Blue Dream
1 Jack Herer

Unfortunately I made the newbie mistake of not transferring the labels over when I went to the buckets, so they are all mystery girls at the moment.

I have a couple of leaves that started to show a tiny tiny bit of nute burn on two of the girls because my water dropped faster than I realized and I was at almost 2k PPM for about a day. I realized I need to add some PH'd water every couple of days and since I've been doing that they've been vibrant and the PPMs are slowly dropping (still at around 1400 and I started at 1700).

I've done some training 3-4 times and they really took to it, they've started to grow so many more sites as you can see from the top-down photos. I think it's time to train more which I'm going to work on but because they are so bushy it's a challenge to work around the bottoms and bucket lids.

They are about 10" tall at this point, though obviously they'd be higher if I hadn't trained them down. I'm thinking since they are mostly sativa dominant strains (except chem which is like 55/45 indica) they will stretch pretty good in flowering.

Anyway, here are the photos. I'm running a 1500w equivalent LED (268W actual) in a 5X5X6.67 tent.I'm thinking I might need to supplement light during flowering, any thoughts?

looking Very nice. Looks like you've nailed it thus far. Week 9 of flower everyone can help you determine which is which. Maybe even closer to week 4 or 5...should be a fun post?

Thanks for the reply! That sounds like it would be fun. I will make sure I post some pics during flower. I'll probably just keep this thread updated as I progress. Appreciate it.

Appreciate the feedback. As I'm only growing 6 plants in the space I'm certainly not using it all- more like half actually. If I even say 3 by 3 then if I add another one of the same light I have right now I would assume I'll be good? That will be over 530 actual Watts for a 9sqft grow area.

Update: Switched to 12/12 on 3/5.


4 days into transition here they are. Added a second light. I'm a little short of the 50w/sq. ft. as they've been covering more ground lately, but I am going to do a lot of training to make sure I get the most out of the lights I have.

Lookkng good!!! I’m in the same boat as you and running A similar system ... i’m doing an Rdwc system. First timer.. eight buckets but I’m only doing 6 buckets to start they turn into monsters .. i’m in Day 39 of flower .. wow!! Just wait
I really would get some extra light if you want to get some quality product ... putting in another LED would be smarter some really inexpensive ideas out there for you

Thanks for the response. Right now I have 2X268w actual (2X1500W advertised/listed) LEDs and I think that's about the max I can do with my current setup just from a pure power availability standpoint. I'll be interested to see how they end up.

It's funny just 10 days ago I was thinking, "wow I have so much wasted space" and after my third training session they just exploded sideways and now they are almost covering the entire room! I have to run an electric heater so I had to create a metal tray mount system for up near the top of the room just to keep the heater in there. The only other item on the floor is the fan.

Sorry I didn’t read the update where you said you added another light will looks really good seems like you got your nutelevel down pat now.. I ended up causing a little bit of nute burn as well and now I’m running my P PMs at 1000 ...plants look great I do think it will get a little tight in that space .. as I’m running six plants in a 10 x 10 and barely have room for anything else think you’ll be really happy with your final results though
