Rosin press

I have decided to just buy a press instead of rigging one.

I have a couple questions.

1. Is the dake b10 capable of squishing an oz of flower?

2. What size plates will I need for an oz squeeze?
I don't want the plates larger than needed so the rosin wont stay in contact with them so it can cool quicker.

3. What is a reputable plate
Mfg?

Thanks

i have the hand crank rosin tech press, works pretty good but i also bought the pollen master so i usually just press the kief. if your looking for yield I've definitely found that rosin is not the way to go but is the cleanest.

I use the RTP GOLD SERIES MANUAL TWIST ROSIN PRESS . The plates are 2 inches by 4 inches. I highly recommend creating hash either using bubbles bags, or dry sift extraction, pressing the dry sift, and then pressing the hash as apposed to pressing the flower. Much much higher yields. And, if you must know, with my 2 by 4 inch press i coudl easily press and oz of flower, you just stack it on itself and press it cold, to get a sort of nug pellet and then press that.

I really want the capability to press hash pucks also, not just rosin
But old school pressed hash.

Any recommendations for a mould that will be compatible with a standard press?

10 ton is the smallest press I'd buy....10 - 20 ton imo work the best.
3 x 5 or 3 x 7 plates work well for oz's.
There are good units to buy and other are a complete waste of money. Careful what you pick. 75% of the unit I see have flaws. Once you buy one like that...you find out the hard way quick.

I already have the setup picked out
Dake press
Lowtemp plates cage type
Pre press mould
Bags etc..

Just wondering if I can add something
That will create pressed hash pucks now.

Should have my whole setup already but I lent my money to a friend in need. I hate friends. Lol

It almost seems like I should be able to make pressed hash in that rosin plate if I used less pressure but I don't know

so if your asking specifically about getting it into a perfect round puck, like what mold sizes to buy and what not i wouldn't be the guy to ask, but i cant tell you that you can def use a rosin press with no heat to press dry sift/kif into kif hash , and then once you do that, then press it with the heat and youll get "shatter" quality rosin. pressing bud into liek organic material hash like just heavily pressed bud...im sorry but i really wouldnt waste your time with that except to prepare it to press it for rosin. kif hash is so much better and stronger.

Excellent, yeah Ill have several grades of kief from dry sift.
Some I will make rosin with and some I want to just press into hash pucks.
Thank you

exactly. i think we have the same press... 2 inch by 4 inch?

I press kief and dried flower. The kief rosin is good. Basically it's a hash rosin. I like it well enough. But when you have a good strain of flowers to press it's superior imo. Creamier and tastier. Certain strains I have make a more flavorful rosin than others. But overall I like the flower rosin better.
Your gonna get more with kief but that stands to reason as you've basically already concentrated it by using the sugar powder. So of course it will yield better. It's all relative to what the plant had on it after it grew. Frostier plant...more rosin.
I've surprised myself on more than one occasion by expecting more flavor from a strain just to find out another strain was better. The exact opposite of what I thought would happen. So don't discount a weed until you press some. You may be surprised. Low temp is best. Slower but tastier.

I can press 14 grams with 3x5 plates, but I do use a pre-press mold. The mold I have is 2x4 but I think if I would have got the 3x5 mold, I coulda did an Oz. I bought my mold from here https://www.rosinpressplates.com/ because they was the cheapest. I wish I would have got my plates from there, I paid $250 for the from eBay. I do find my yield suffers when pressing large amounts, I like to stick with around 5 grams at a time. I'm only pressing for myself though so that may not work for you. Anyone else notice a drop in yield doing larger amounts?
