First HID grow. Am I going to have enough vertical room? Pics

So I'm worried that I'm going to have to switch my plants into flower super early. From the top of the pot, to the bottom of the light, is about 45 inches (see pic). The light has another 12 inches of wiggle room to the top of the ceiling (see pic) but the way the light hangs and the yo-yos, that's just how they're designed, I guess? Any way to reduce this 12 inch gab and maximum the height ability of my light?

So If you take into account it's a 1000watt HID, I figure I should subtract at least 18 inches from bottom of light to top of plant. That leaves me with 27 inches of grow room in an 80 inch tall tent! I feel like that is just too small of an amount, and am thinking I really need to optimize how my light hangs now, rather than in the future, when I have plants in there I don't want to be trying to rig up the light. That additional 12 inches would be welcomed. 39 inches I can accept. I can even get additional height by using shorter pots, but I'm more concerned about the light ATM.

What are your thoughts? BTW, I've done a lot of research before positing here. It seems like it's one of those things where everyone's setup is a little bit different, calling for different solutions. Thanks a lot guys and gals!

As a heads up, I followed this formula as well: Take the maximum heights your lights can go. Then subtract 16". Then subtract another 12-16" for the height of the screen. i end up with 13. that's the same height as my pots, Lol Obviously, I intend to SCROG. 27 inches has me a bit worried.

Bump - c'mon folks, someone has to know a solution to that 12 inches of slack between the light and light support. I can't find anything on it. I'd rather try a tried and true method than work out a setup of my own on my first indoor grow!

No offence but if u can’t figure that out give up now haha.... lose the yo yo hangers and slide the light hooks right over the top bar.... or use some string and tie it higher, the yo yo is useless in your set up cause they are maxed out and you’ll never lower them with your height issues. Also, without massive AC unless your in a really cool spot that 1000 watt HID will burn everything up in the tent. Gl

offense taken. i resent this. the growing community often comes up with innovative solutions to common problems. you don't get to take hits on my intelligence.

Ok dude, whatever. More often then not most problems can be solved with common sense. There’s just too many posts these days with people that are too lazy to put in the effort to solve a problem themselves. I am not one to dig on newbies like a lot of trolls but cmon man, I solved your problem and realistically you won’t know till you try, buy a bigger tent if your concerned . Gl
