School shootings in America are now a WEEKLY OCCURRENCE.

It's now so common that unless the death toll is large enough, it doesn't make the news anymore.

Ponder that for a moment... And then ask yourself why it happens in America andanowhere else.

It's not about the guns themselves, but rather a symptom of the inequality and increasing desperation of our society.
School shootings are a daily occurrence. But the news business is a business, and there has always been a ratio figuring the number of dead weighed against their ethnicity to determine how many inches of newsprint it gets. New media today, but the same rules apply.

The mass casualty school shootings happen in the 'burbs. The problem in most cases is lack of mental health and ease of obtaining weapons. {white kids with long guns}

But those are a small percent of school shootings. Most happen in urban areas where one kid shoots another. Back in the day, these used to be fights. You have to assume the ease of obtaining weapons have something to do with more of the common girl and money fights escalating to gunfire. {black kids with short guns}

More of those dang statistics coming. . . . .Sorry. . . . . .

School is the safest place for a kid to be. Cars are the most dangerous, with home coming in a close second.

Cars are nowhere near as dangerous as they used to be. Deaths per vehicle mile traveled has fallen dramatically in the last 20 years.

How about we enforce the overabundance of gun laws we already have in place to stop such tragedies and watch how that makes a difference
How about going FORWARD, like CT/NY/CA did by banning high capacity magazines?
How about CONTINUING the ban on assault weapons, that was allowed to fucking EXPIRE in 1994?
How about this nation wakes the fuck up, and says we need MORE gun control laws, because the ones we have now, are fucking useless.

Maybe we could actually address the real problem?

Its not illegal to thread the end of a barrel. They are not illegal. Just an nfa item.
Thanks. I haven't kept up with it. I had read years ago that it was against the law.

Come to think of it, I had a 270 with bipod and flash suppressor, I guess the suppressor was threaded on. I sold it so I could buy Sister's Mini 14 Ranch when she couldn't pay the light bill 15 years ago. I've never shot the Mini 14. I guess the right thing to do would be to give the rifle back now that we are not as economically embarrassed.

That Ruger is a good gun. I like the mini 14. I got an ar because they are cheaper.

I just built another one to give my dad before they are banned again. I got about $350 in it.

The thing is even when there was an assault weapons ban they were never completely illegal and full autos could still be had with the right paperwork.

You ban the assault weapons and it won't rid them. All it does is increase the price like any black market item. I remember people having them for sale during the last ban. The difference was they were 4 grand instead of 400 bucks.

you can quibble all you want. you know what people mean by "assault rifle" ...large capacity rifles designed to carry in urban areas for military actions. there is no need for any civilian anywhere to have one of these. are the fucking deer fighting back? are they carrying ar's?
are the longhorns laying ambushes?

The Mini 14 doesn't look scary. Most folks think Assault Rifle if the stock and magazine look a certain way. I paid 200 bucks for mine. And I got a grocery bag of ammo and extra clips. Sister ask to buy it back, but I had sold the 270 as well as a 243 pump to scrape up the money for it, so I told her no. The last two or three birthdays I haven't bought myself a gun, so maybe my collecting bug is getting better. I should give it back to her. I never do any shooting other than killing varmints anymore. And I do have a couple of SKS's if I ever did need to shoot fast.

I doubled checked the whole threading a barrel. It is legal for a flash suppressor. If its for a silencer you need a batf form 4. Nfa items.

Some of the gun laws are weird.

Lol, large capacity matters so much. Changing mags takes soo much time and effort.

They're not for military actions. The M4 is. AR-15's are literally a mini-14 with a pistol grip and adjustable stock. Again, too many people bitching about something they clearly know nada about
