Yellowing Too Early in Flower? - Orinoco

Thanks Cx2H, this may be a silly question... I've never worked with Epsom salt. Are you recommending that for the magnesium, the sulphur, or both? The reason I ask is I have Cal-Mag, so if it's mostly the magnesium the plant needs am I ok to just run the Cal-Mag instead of Epsom salt? I'm of course fine with getting Epsom salts, I'm more trying to learn with this question.
You can use the Ca Mg, If that's what you have. I recommend Epsom for the Mg and the sulfate adds a little flavor color. Epsom is about 9.8% Mg and Ca Mg is usually around 4%.

More information on Ca Mg. https://www.maximumyield.com/definition/3403/cal-mag-supplements

don't really worry about the run off ph and ppm. if you make sure what you put in is right, what comes out will be fine.
i'm suspicious of your local store brew. i personally have trouble trusting someone else with that much control of my plants.
i want to know how much of what, from what source, i'm putting into my plants.
with water that hard, i doubt you need any cal mag, but the epsom salts is always a good idea, just don't ever do it.
next run, keep giving them flower nutes after the flip till they stop stretching, then start your flower formula, and you should get a lot less fading.

Awesome, yes agreed Roger! I'm going to stop using this "store brew" after this grow. I once asked about the contents and got the response... "everything you need is in there", which is not enough info. I love the shop and the guys there are amazing, but I want to know exactly what is going into my plants in the future.

I'm also firmly on the "what's going in train", rather than concentrating on what was coming out. There is so much to learn about growing well and recently joined the ph club, now the ppm club, so I'm excited about monitoring with this new level of data.

Thanks again for the help everyone!

What is the expected flower time on the plant? Ph was off going in.... way off. Depending on flower time I might just leave it, your buds look nice bro don’t panic. That plant will survive. What size pot? I would flush her When she needs watering next, make sure the pot is “light” give the roots time to breathe. A give her a base nute. Some yellowing is normal.... your garden is maturing let it grow.....I would say the window for green leaves is gone. Nice grow

I've never bought a meter that didn't come with either test solution (I use and recommend Apera.com) or the little pH packets? Maybe you should check again cuz I did the same thing with my first meter 3 years ago and the packets were right in the box all along and I didn't even notce them for a week or two and when I finally checked my meter was off

.. it's easy just follow the packet instruction and calibrate it cuz you got to know your pH ..its the number one thing my friend..!

That's a good deal on yellow cheapos!!!
I think I paid around $12 for just one:cuss: ..seems wack that they sell a meter with no way to calibrate it, but okay I believe it, LOL (not too much surprises me anymore)
-good luck!:weed:

Yeah you got switch search results to : price low to high and go from there. Cheap meters, I treat them as disposable after 4 or so months if not they fux up for sure.

Excellent, thanks Beachwalker!

I got my AquaPro AP-1 PPM meter today and just used it... and the news probably isn't good. I adjusted the ph in from 8.0 to 6.5 (using 0.2ml ph-down, 85% Phosphoric Acid). The PPM in of just the water and ph-down was 200 ppm. The runoff was ph 7.0 and 2050 ppm, which I assume is WAY too high? I just used the meter out of the box without calibration (as I don't have calibration solution), but even if it's off a bit, I'm sure that is buildup of something. So between my bad ph-in over the weeks and this high ppm, now what?

Is it safe to assume that at over 6-weeks flower that I'm best to just use ph water for the rest of my feedings to try and flush this out? Or should I do one big flush with ph water and then re-test ppm?
I'd flush the medium using SLF-100 at double strength (or even more)

The room is somewhat sealed and there is a carbon filter venting air outside but nothing to bring fresh air into the room. Although I open the door every night when the lights turn on for 3 to 6 hours. I use a moisture meter and often water every two or three days, switching between water and feed each time. I mix the nutrients at either 50% or 75% from recommended. The brand of nutes is a well respected local store home brew that just has GROW and BLOOM written on them so don't know composition, each with two parts to be mixed with water.

Does anyone have any ideas what I'm doing wrong? I know some yellowing is normal at the end of flower but I think this is happening too early and the brown spots are new and worrisome. Also, the humidity in the room is very low, usually around 20ish percent. My last grow was closer to 50% but I'm assuming winter months with heat on in house is causing lower numbers. Thoughts? Should I just keep going forward as is, adding Bloom nutes and watering? I'm guessing 4 weeks max left until harvest.

Thanks!

Hey dude great looking plant. I do see what you're saying about the centre plant, if its not a low ph issue i cant say myself. Maybe someone can help me too?
Having said that though, have you checked your trichomes with a scope? The plants may be closer than you think to ready. The buds have nice deep coloured glow from afar, unless its your light skewing the colour in the picture. I think either way if you had to rip it out early, i dont think youd be disappointed.

Thanks again for all the advice everyone! Expected flower on this strain is 9 weeks. She's two days shy of 7 weeks in the updated picture attached.

I got the AquaPro AP-1 ppm meter and it did not come with calibration material. But the instructions say it was factory calibrated to 342 ppm. I've ordered some 1000 ppm calibration solution so I can set it and check once in a while.

Tonight is watering night and I want to update and get some advice from all the ideas shared so far. I got Epson salt and am planning on adding that to ph water tonight. But I read up on SirNaps idea of the enzymes and it sounds good. I actually have a sample of some Canadian Enzymes Komplete Natural Cleaner... is this enzyme thing a gimmick? I would like to try it but am I able to mix ph water, enzyme, and Epson salt in one batch for watering tonight? Or am I best to run the Epson and enzyme on two different watering? Or not run the enzyme at all?

Thoughts? I'm watering at some point tonight, but not for 3 or 4 hours.

Remember, that is an estimated finish time if conditions were optimal and the subject had no deficiencies.

Expect some over time, depending on what effect you are after with the medicine. No amber, all amber, 50/50, 10/90 etc.

I go for put your azz to sleep amber. :-)

pH water with Epsom and watch it because honestly 2-3 weeks with no food could not go well but you probably have enough residual in the media to make it. At this point it needs no N but pk is different. I use a 0-2-3 this late with enzymes to break sheet down.

Yes enzymes work and work well.

Good luck.

Update and Question...

Here are pics from today, exactly 8-weeks since switching 12/12. This strain says 9-week flower but my understanding is it's safe to add a week to breeders listed time?

If anyone has been following this thread, I butchered the ph in and overfed... after feeding only water or water/cal-mag or water/epsom salt or water/enzymes in small quantities over the past 10 days... I've got the ph in check and the ppm out looking good.

My main question is this, the leaves are purple and yellow and falling out lots over the past two weeks. My trichomes are 40% clear, 50% milky, and 10% amber. Given that there's supposed to be a week+ left, and I screwed ph and other things... is this plant still progressing? Are there enough resources left in the plant that the trichomes will still mature? Or, should I cut my losses from my mistakes and harvest now? I'm fine with water only flushing for another week+, but I just want to be sure I'm not degrading the buds now that the leaves are in such bad shape/gone. Do flowers still mature with mostly sugar leaves and some weak yellow/purple, and few green leaves left? Thoughts?

The fading looks about right to me. Yes it can be ok with only sugar leaf left on it at this point. The Epsom water you have been giving is a flush and people pay 20$ a liter bottle for it. (Flawless finish). :-)
