ok so jam packing more than 2-3 plants in a 3x3 (seems to be 3-4.5sqft per plant) will end up just being a fake scrog and more like a sog, and the benefit of such is that it gains the SOG's benefits of fast veg times?Scrog is all about maximizing the output of each plant. It is very often done to compensate for strict limits on plant count. That being said, you could definitely run, for example, 2 or 3 plants in a 3x3 ft scrog rather than 1. But too much beyond that and you aren't really even scogging any more. You're just growing a bunch of plants and happen to have a trellis up. It is the extensive training across a horizontal screen to create tops from secondary shoots that defines the technique. So if plant count is of no concern to you legally, then yes there is indeed an advantage to running SOG vs SCROG. The super quick veg times in a SOG setup means that you will cut significant time off of each run.
thanks, its always confusing to get confluicting info. can you explain why this article mentions 1 plant per 30cm screen (~1ft x 1ft)?Scrog is all about maximizing the output of each plant. Bend, break, twist, train, crop, coax etc etc...w/time & patience. Current attempt to fill every square of that 4x8 netthanks! do you decide what size screen prior to growing it or just add as you go, and it comes out in a circle right? so the edges of the square screen / corners are a littlle bare? wodnering how that can be maximized
If you're training correctly the canopy will be whatever shape the net is. Just keep tucking and weaving til the whole screen is full.thanks! do you decide what size screen prior to growing it or just add as you go, and it comes out in a circle right? so the edges of the square screen / corners are a littlle bare? wodnering how that can be maximized
I like to grow em big and bushy then i just squish my net on them and pull the tips out where i want.If you're training correctly the canopy will be whatever shape the net is. Just keep tucking and weaving til the whole screen is full.
That's what I did this run. Had some nasty lockout that messed her up pretty decent for 10 days or so and I lost a lot of training time. Just topped twice and jammed the net down and did some tucking. Lol. Sometimes you gotta adapt.I like to grow em big and bushy then i just squish my net on them and pull the tips out where i want.
Im too impatient to weave for 4 weeks anymore![]()
