Dudes.
NPK, is NPK. Macros are macros. Micros are micros.
I still buy the cheapest, shittiest coco coir.
If i was potting a plant with straight coco, in a 20 litre pot like i do, everytime. Id flush the coco with atleast 120L BOILING WATER. Before i do anything else!
Salts are salts, theyll disolve easily. Just like ebsom salts.
Check with an ec/ppm metre. You really can get it nice and low.

It depends what your base nutes contain. I grow in straight coco and never feed calmag because the nutes use calcium niitrate for the nitrogen source and that provides all the calcium needed. I also don't flush coco anymore because the coco I use is prewashed and buffered. I just soak the compressed coco in 1/3 to 1/2 strength nutrient solution. I used to water till runoff but since I use blumats there is no runoff. Works great.

But I don't think the OP is growing in coco. That's obviously soil in the picture.

Yes agreed.
Though too much calmag in soil is a total disaster IMHO
Much harder to fix. The fix is really slow.
Outdoors id use gypsum to help catch calcium etc and grab onto sodium.
But indoors. Inside a pot, i dont know what the best coarse of action would be.
Id be leaning towards a really big flush. Once the medium's dry.

Running 1/4 Kind Soil & 3/4 Ocean Forest. I balance my tap water ph to 6.5-6.8. I added calmag for the hell of it. Even though Kind Soil claims you dont need any extra nutes, I've seen a time or two people ended up needing calmag at some point. So i said why not

And it looks like you are just watering directly around the plant. You need to water the entire pot.

Honestly I just wanted to see if it would help in any way. She was and is still growing beyond my expectations as a noob lol and i transplanted about two weeks ago and i wasnt sure when she was ready for watering the whole pot. Over watering was a main concern

Is that coco your growing in? If so, then you need to use CalMag. If it's soil, I wouldn't add any unless there's a specific problem where it's needed.

Makes sense, just wanna catch anything minor before it turns into something major. Im growing in soil for now man, maybe coco after some more experience. Thats why i chose kind soil so i wouldn't have to worry about nutes to begin with lol
