An Oklahoma mother who married her daughter after the pair

"hit it off" has been sentenced to two years in prison.

Patricia Ann Spann, 45, pleaded guilty to the felony offence of incest

and admitted wedding her biological daughter, Misty Velvet Dawn Spann, 26.

The mother lost custody of her children and reunited with her daughter in 2014.

The two married in March 2016 after same-sex marriage became legal in the state.

Investigators later discovered Patricia Ann Spann had previously wed her son.

Her son, who was 18 years old at the time, annulled the marriage on incest

charges in 2010 after tying the knot with his mother in 2008,

according to the Oklahoman.

The married mother and daughter were discovered

by the Department of Human Services during a child welfare check-up.

According to the Oklahoman, Misty Spann also had the marriage

annulled in October last year after arguing she had been fraudulently induced into it.

She said her mother had lied about consulting "three separate attorneys

who advised there would be no problems with the marriage", reports the newspaper.

Patricia Ann Spann said she believed the union was legal, since she was

not listed as the biological mother on her daughter's birth certificate

and had only come into contact with her two years ago beforehand.

Misty Spann pleaded guilty to incest last November and was given 10 years

of probation and required to undergo counselling.

In addition to her prison term handed down on Tuesday, Patricia Spann

will serve eight years of probation and must register as a sex offender upon release.

Under state law, marriage to a close relative is considered incest,

regardless of whether a sexual relationship exists.

Actually, that would be at least 2 crimes:Illegal to "marry" the close relative thus you break a civil law of fraudulent marriage, lying on official document, etc. Then if you actually consummate , felony sex crimes. They shoulda just fucked and left it at that, be in a lot less trouble

American authorities are moving ahead with Poland’s request to extradite a 99-year-old Minnesota man to be tried on allegations that he was involved in a second world war massacre of civilians, Polish prosecutors said on Thursday.

Polish authorities issued an arrest warrant last year after opening a case following a series of 2013 reports in which the Associated Press identified the man as Ukrainian-born Michael Karkoc, an ex-commander in an SS-led Nazi unit that burned Polish villages and killed civilians during the war.

Karkoc’s family denies that he was involved in any war crimes.

Last July, Poland asked US authorities to hand over Karkoc, who lives in Minneapolis, so he could face a court trial.

Robert Janicki, a prosecutor with the National Remembrance Institute, said on Thursday that in response to Poland’s extradition request, American authorities have now chosen three medical experts to determine whether Karkoc can “consciously take part in a court trial and travel by plane”. The timing of the examination was not immediately known.

It was the first sign of progress made on the extradition request.

Prosecutors from the institute, which investigates wartime crimes against Poles, have determined that evidence shows that American Michael K – whose last name they have not released in line with Poland’s privacy laws – was a commander of a unit in the SS-led Ukrainian Self Defense Legion that raided the eastern Polish village of Chlaniow in July 1944, killing 44 people, including women and children.

The investigation was opened after the AP published a series of stories establishing that Karkoc commanded the unit, based on wartime documents, testimony from other members of the unit and Karkoc’s own Ukrainian-language memoir. The AP also established that Karkoc lied to US immigration officials to get into the United States several years after the war.

German prosecutors also opened an investigation into Karkoc after the AP’s 2013 stories. In 2015, they concluded there was enough evidence to pursue murder charges, but shelved their investigation, deciding Karkoc was unfit to stand trial based upon medical reports from his own doctors.
