There’s no replacement for displacement

4 -315 :) in a 6x6 tent

I would go 2-315 to help spread the light .
Neither of ur picks are ideal to light 5x5
I use 315 for veg; you will have some lower par areas of the spaces .

I run DE 1000s over a 48x44” space .

So it's a fixed wall room. And I'm not willing to do 4 315. I'm trying to ditch 1600 of hps. Ultimately if I can get away with lighting a 4x5 effectively with some drop off around the edge that's fine too. I've been reading par ratings and my main concern is that the overlapping 2 fixtures won't provide the same intensity as the two opposing lamps in the same hood. So yes spread is a little nicer with 2 hoods but intensity would suffer. Or at least that's my worry

Although I guess with 2 315 I could do a sort of triangle configuration with my 600 hps in a cool tube and get some decent intensity directly under the 3

I would do 2 315
It will be a better spread then the 630
I wouldn’t run the 600 with the 315s
Because you can run the 315s 10” above the canopy, the 600 would need to be higher, and you’d be putting a lot of light on the reflectors of the 315s , you’d be better off with 3- 315s vs 2- 315 & 600.
My 315s cover a 36x36 area really well.
I run one in a 24x48 & 1 in 36x36

Two 315s would work very well. Light overlap is worth more than single hot spot intensity :peace:

two 315's gonna cover like a 3x6
Yup I agree I built a table 3.5’x7’ to veg 18 clones on. The edges where definitely dim and some of the plants got a bit stretchy. I also was in a large room so no refraction but good lights all the same.

I have been looking at upgrading my lighting in my 24x48x60. Currently have a 600w Black Star LED. Curious, what is your temp in your 24x48 with 315, and what are you doing for cooling/ventilation?

I keep my veg around 80
I have a 4” exhaust fan, on a controller
And 2 fans for air movement. Blowing down.
I have to keep the door open in the summer for the hottest months .
In my 36x36 room
It’s close to the same but only one fan at pot level blowing up
This room runs cooler , it works like a cool tube .
I have an intake at the bottom. The 6” fan blows air up from under the canopy that hits the light then gets sucked pass that to a 4” exhaust fan.
I’m going to be changing the 2x4 room to work like the 3x3 room. It’s very effective

The 2x4 has the fans level with the light n this blows hot air back at the plants , the 3x3 has fresh air being pushed past the plants . This also helps the exhaust, where the 2x4 my fans are working against the exhaust fan.

I’m always tweaking , trying to find the perfect mouse trap

I agree with this ^^^. I have both a 630cmh and 2 315s. The 315s work perfect for veg. The 630s are actually a bit to strong for them. The difference in overall light intensity is very noticeable. I actually HAVE to wear sun glasses in my 630cmh flowering tent. It literally hurts my eyes from the intensity. I also used a light meter and found that the 630s have a perfect foot print for 5x5. Right at the edge of 5x5 is where the intensity will begin to dramatically drop

So I guess I should have followed this up. I ended up talking with a manufacturer in Guangzhou China and ordered 2 630 de lamp fixtures and 4 315 se fixtures. I still need to buy lamps for the se units but I hung a 630 de yesterday to test. Swapped it for the 600 hps I had holding down the start of veg and some coco stuff I have going. Wow these things are bright. I'm going to eventually run 2 630 de in the 5x5. The spread of the cheap reflectors will work out perfectly as long as I can dissipate the heat without an ac hood. And if anyone wants a cheap 315 hit me up. I'll sell the 4 at around 125 shipped. Lol

Damn 2 630 in a 5x5?! That's gonna make some serious yield! I've got a single 630 in my 5x5 and will most likely add my 315w in at some point

I hope it puts out. It's replacing a 1000 watt that I added a 600 to near the end for fill. I used to run 2 plants and average about 25 ounces a run. This time with a screen and 4 ladies and the cmh hoping for 2 lb.

I'm considering running a 630 and 315w in my 5x5. And the last 2 -3 weeks of flower I'll replace the 315w with an 400w hps for final bulk and densing up period
