First Grow, thoughts?

Sorry if I missed it, but what is your actual grow area? You say 8x5x7 but it looks like that room is not wall to wall green... If your grow area is 8x5 then I agree you need more light, but it looks like your net is only around 4x4, right?

Correct, I was giving the total dimensions of my grow space. I am currently at 4x4, I forgot to specify that. If I move to 1000 watt next fall I will expand it to 5x5.

Of course, that will always be the case if you have a crappy 1000w setup, but you will get a larger yield with a 1000w over a 600w unless you don't know what you are doing.... Watts have everything to do with yield.

Not necessarily, lights and watts play part of the role but environment as a whole e.g lights,humidity, temps, nutes, ppms, ph, genetics ect determines your yield.
But looks like your really smashing your grow dude nice and frosty and only gonna get fatter!

Your lights powerful enough for what you have but if you do want to be able to have your lights closer to penetrate deeper into the canopy maybe look at an air cooled shade for your next grow.
I use 3 of them with a 6inch inlet and a 8inch exhaust and have no trouble with temps ect really worth the extra money.

Thanks man, with three weeks left they should really swell up. Next fall I will be upgrading to 1000 watt exhaust hood and expanding to 5x5 (currently 4x4). I guess I was just saying what you said about setup and environment. I should have said with EVERYTHING equal you will produce more with 1000 over 600.

Yeah definitely and that sounds good dude looks like you’ve really excelled for your first grow! You gonna run the same strains or are you gonna try some different ones?

I am not sure yet for my next indoor but I will be sticking with this breeder so I will see what they have during the summer. I am moving outside this summer to grow 20 plants (designated medical grower). I am going to grow 5 Pot of Golds (Aghani x Skunk #1), 5 White Widows, 5 White Queens and 5 Auto Forest Fruits (NYC Turbo Diesel x Blueberry 420). Should be interesting to see how the outdoor grow goes, not expecting quite the same potency but hoping for at least 15 pounds.

Nice I’ve got 2 plants spare as I’ve just switched to rdwc and have a 8 pot system but when I went to get my clones from a friend he gave me 0 instead of 8 so going to use them 2 as outdoor experiments putting them outside this weekend haha

If u do any upgrades do a little research on CMH. For your space a 630 CMH would be perfect. I swapped my flower/veg rooms to CMH years ago. ur hood looks like its Mogul? The only Mogul option is the CDM 860W All Start Lamp but it only works in Vertical orientation. If u have a DE hood u could use any 315w, 630w, 1kw de bulb. Most digital ballast work fine with 630-1kw cmh bulbs. for 315 u would need another ballast. 4x4/630=40w sqf this is plenty. It's what I use in my main flower room.

Thanks for the advice I will do some research on them. It's funny because I was just at my local grow store and they were showing me some CMH fixtures. I will be upgrading my hood anyways and planned on a new ballast so all options will be open.

Week 7 updated pics, buds are really filling out nicely. Still no yellowing on any fan leaves, probably have another couple weeks still of them filling out. Let's see how big they can get, really stoked with how this grow has performed so far.

Well I wanted to start out with water/ice method. I don't have enough material for sift, when I worked at a dispensary in Hayward, CA we had the triple screening process during weighing and it took a lot of material. I know there are some sites out there but trust the growers in this forum.

Depending on the # of bag you get will determine how many buckets u need .
I make a tower,

Thanks man, I will do some reading and pm you after I am done. I knew some of you vets here would have some great advice. I wish I could pull-off the triple screening though, that used to produce the most potent and pure hash/keef we had at the dispensary. These leaves should produce some good stuff. Cheers!

You can sift with the bags, use for dry ice, or water. I can make full melt any way .

But garbage in garage out,
If you want the best you got to run the best.
I do pound runs of grade A bud for personal smoke.
