Illinois medical marijuana card wait time

Just got off the phone with them. Nice lady on the phone said it could be another 4-6 weeks before they even get to my application. I submitted on February 8

I honestly think it will be faster than that. They already seem to be reviewing mid to late January.
Where does your application fall in the timeline? Here’s to hoping you are right! But it seems like a solid 87-88 days for most

I think my app got there around Jan. 8th. (give or take a day or two) Check cashed on March 16th. I am HOPING to see my card by Friday. I saw that someone with a 1/23 date already had their check cashed a couple of days ago. I feel like things may slightly speed up because a lot of the 85+ day people hit the holiday season (thanksgiving, Xmas, NY) Lots of extra days off. It's just a guess but I do feel there has been a tiny bit of forward movement once they hit the January apps.

I sure will keep you posted. It's taking everything in my power to not call them!! I also just found out today that the dispensary I signed up with is having a big 4/20 block party and one of my favorite musicians is performing. I am taking that as a sign!!!

Recieved letter from the "IDPH" on Monday a week after they cashed my check mailed January 8th w/my application form filed out by a cop who has an electronic finger printing service near me. So I know that was perfect since he had a dozen going from "other" MMJ clients. The pot Doctor sent in her approval forms on January 22nd (have copy receipt). The "IDPH" letter stated that "YOUR APPLICATION IS INCOMPLATE".. You will NOT be getting your card!!!! I am 60 years old. Have had generalized "Dystonia" and Spasmodic Torticollis for 52 years. I've been seen by the best doctors available. Surgeries w/a year of rehab.... $250K in medical Botox over 10 years, Legally disabled by the State of Illinois since 2010. My application was PERFECT...Going on 3 months "NOW" total "OUT OF POCKET is $350 and they are KEEPING my MONEY!!.. I have "NOTHING"!!..... My PAIN LEVEL everyday is off the charts and these MF'ers in this f'ed up "Inept Garbage State" DON'T GIVE 2 FUCK's.. This is a total "JOKE".....

Hey Crib, I’m sorry to hear you’re still in pain. I know it’s frustrating and scary to wait 3 months only to receive a notice that your application is incomplete. You might be imagining waiting another 3 months. The good news is that you will NOT lose your place in line. Most people that get that notice are able to get it cleared up and their card is sent out within the week. Illinois has been known to lose people’s forms or be picky with the electronic fingerprints. It’s likely not the fault of any of your care providers. Your doctor or fingerprinter will understand and should cover the resubmission for little or usually no charge. Good luck!

I called today still nothing haven't even got to my name.My CC was charged in Jan 23 for fee! this is Crazy I really don't know how much more of this BS I can stand now they claim the wait is even longer than 90 days they say machines have been down all week which will cause longer wait time. Still NOTHING!

Hi all! Long time lurker here, thought I would share my timeline. Great to have such supportive group to help with these wait times!

I submitted my completed application (app, fingerprints, doctors note) electronically on Jan 12th. My credit card was charged on Jan 13th.

I just called and was told I was approved on Monday, March 26th and that my card was sent to the printer today (March 28th).

Anyone know how long the wait is once your approval has been sent to the printer?

Thank you!

This is awesome news and congratulations! Someone mentioned in this thread, “10-14 days after being sent to printer.”

Hope your wait is over soon. :)

Yes, and great news that you have a case worker. You can call or email and then scan in the documents to that case worker. I’m sure it’s going to work out for you.
Good luck and keep us updated!
