Yo! So far loving the grow, But I have to say man, as looking at your pics, you def. have a thripe infestation bro... Just Fyi.. I know this because I currently am enduring a thripe infestation, and those leaves look just like mine did a few weeks ago.. Get some predatory mites, or lace wings, and then get nematodes for the soil (to kill all the eggs and larvae). That will 100% control the thripes and still keep your buds organically clean from foliage sprays and what not. Regardless it looks like your baby is about done, so I guess at this point it doesn't really matter.. From what I've been told and researched, the only thing they do is debilitate the growth rate due to their eating and poop covering the leaves from efficiently photosynthesizing. So, you probably would have had a bigger yield, but oh well, still looks beautiful! Other than that, Can't wait to see the outcome!
Thanks for the heads up on the thrips, I had seen the spots on the leaves but that started when the plant was inside, they don't seem to have gotten worse so I just assumed it was basically scar tissue from that. I had a small infestation of little flying insects, never quite determined what they were but I got rid of them surprisingly easy. I mixed a small amount of dish soap with my water (on a week with no feeding) and flooded the soil with it, let it sit for about ten minutes, then flushed it twice with fresh water. I have had people tell me it is not a good idea necessarily to flood the soil but in my experience the best thing you can do is A) have really good drainage available, and B) make sure the soil is completely saturated (not in regards to volume, just consistency) with water. The soap water helped flush them out and in the first rinse I did, I added a small piece of a spicy pepper (jalapeno/habanero) to the water. This saved me from the flying insects at least.

And yeah I should be done relatively soon, still gonna wait to get the seeds fully ripened though.

Thanks for dropping in. :-)

Ah! I see! Ya you could have had "White flies" as they call them. Which is yet another cannabis eating insect just like the thripe. SOunds like you put up a good battle with em, but I'm pretty sure they are still around.. It's a never ending battle at times.. Because once you think they are dead.. There was just a few eggs or so that made it or hid themselves in the soil, then within a day the whole process starts again, and a few weeks later, when you feel all is good and better, bomb! They hit again.. It's such a pain in the A$%...
However, what you did is fine, I wouldn't recommend ever watering your soil with soap.. No matter how many times you flush it. Although im sure it did kill all the eggs and what not within the soil. That is exactly why I suggested nematodes, they will kill everything within the soil, LITERALLY! Then you foliage spray ( or when flowering) use predator insects. At least this is my situation, I have to grow medically so I stress highly over organics and healthy insect free plants. The soap you suggested is what I do for foliage spray and it works perfect against white flies, thripes, and mites, but once they start to flower, you foliage sprayin days are over.. Unless you want to risk bud rot.. However, seems that you did a great job, and your plant looks beautiful! Just for future reference I guess? Never heard of the jalapeno/habanero trick before, interesting... I'd be to afraid to use it. It's awesome that there are tricks like these, not sure how effective it is, but back in the day these are the tricks people would HAVE to do as there was no other resources. Now there are many sprays and solutions that are specifically made for such situations. For me, I'd rather just buy a solution that was made for such issue, you know? To many variables as is with growing, to throw more variables such as jalapeno/habanero water and what not. But ey, if it works, to each their own ;). There are a million way to skin a cat in this sense.
Ill stay tuned man! Can't wait to see that yield!

I also do, and to be honest, the soap had me kind of freaking out when I first tried it (on my last run growing out a male). I was told about it from a person I was consulting with who doesn't grow MJ but does grow many other plants. It was only 2 small drops of Dawn for half a gallon of water. I took his word for it, figured what the hell if it fucks it up at least its just this male, but if it doesn't I can get some good pollen for next go-round. I also heard that the pepper water helps to kind of ward off any new insects from trying to settle, for a while at least, and I was just trying to protect the roots at the time really. Leaves are awesome and so are branches but it all means nothing without a healthy root system. I make it a point to use good distilled water and balance it before just dumping it all over everything. I will say though, when it comes to any additive it is best to start small and see how well it does.

Anyways, I appreciate the conversation, not many people provide a good volume of input at once.

Hey no problem man! I love to talk grow, whether its advice or just conversing about random stuff. I love to spread my experience and knowledge, and I think most growers do. If you need anything you can private message me any time!
Although i've never tried any of those remedies you mentioned, it seems to have done a great job.

How she doing? I have a freebie of this and I'm very curious about it. Will probably PPP it either way. But curious how she's doing now. :)

Cheers

She is doing fantastic, I will try to take a couple pics tomorrow but I am having to watch after my sister for a few days but will make a solid attempt to check it out and get a viewable status update for you. Thanks for your interest and I'll be sure to let you guys know how she smells and tastes when the time comes along with yield.

Not the most recent pics, but here you go.
IMAG0737.jpg IMAG0735.jpg

Just for the record, the daily afternoon rain showers here did make it a little tough here in the end, started to get a little bud-rot. Fortunately I spotted it early and clipped any bits that were affected. However I decided to harvest yesterday after work and am in the drying process now. I will get a few pics later today when I get off work. Not the biggest yield I've seen on here but most people on here have been growing for centuries. Not bad for the amount of experience *actually* growing that I have. Looks and smells great though. Hope you guys have enjoyed the ride so far.

I plan on curing for at least two months, but may go even 4-6 months. Ihave no shortage iif smoke so really as long as I keep humidity under control it's just gonna keep curing until I decide to try it out.

why nobody gives a damn to write a smoke report? i mean the amount of threads i've seen which just died off with "smoke report later" or none at all is more than i have hairs on my head and i am not that bald yet.. i can't vote for others but i grow for how weed smokes not for look smell or the process itself..
anyway, anyone got smoke report on lemon garlic og?

Well, this post is old.

The buds from this plant, once cured, were very tasty. Neither lemony or garlic per sé, more like a combination of tangy and peppery.

This strain takes nutes like a champ and stayed healthy despite the occasional cold night and frequent hot (100°+ F) days. Buds didn't get super frosty but don't let that detract from the fact that this was some great smoke. The high was heady but clear. It felt really clean honestly and while deeply elevating, it still left me with enough sense to perform my regular routine OR to just buzz out and play some video games.

To answer your question though, regarding me specifically, I did neither a harvest report or a smoke report because life hit hard right about the time this finished out. Same reason I didn't even finish the grow journal here.

I do have a new grow going now though, if you want to check that out. It is Colombian Gold, Blue Mystic and Northern Lights.

Also, keep in mind that while we obviously enjoy the consumption, a lot of us also really enjoy the growing aspect of it as much or more. I'm sure there are forums for stoners too but this is primarily a growing forum, try not to get offended when most of the posts are in reference to growing. I recommend the smoke report section(on this forum), lots of great info there. Although I also realize this particular strain is difficult to find info on. Honestly I haven't even been able to get seeds of it again.

thank you for the feedback.
i do agree with you on enjoying the growing but something tells me you wouldn't spent your time and efforts on some hemp;)
personally i am trying to understand the type if high to expect from a strain before i pull the trigger and here's where my frustration comes from as many reports on a relatively uncovered strains end without smoke reports..

No problem. I had originally intended to do the report anyways, glad I was finally able to. Thank you for the reminder.
Also, I probably would grow hemp, but I don't think I necessarily am a good metric for that, I just really enjoy gardening personally.

Haha he came back with a decent smoke report.
Thank you.

Be sure to check out the new grow if you've got the time.
