Rosin Stuck to Oil Slick PTFE

I’ve been using a 12 ton 3”x5” rosin press a few times now pressing through 95 micron bags and getting great results. I decided to try Oil Slick PTFE instead of parchment and so far I don’t like it. I pressed at 230 degrees Fahrenheit and the PTFE still looks like it stretched or melted. The main issue is the rosin is like butter and I can’t collect t without spreading it all over the PTFE. With parchment I pop it in the freezer or use a freezer ice chest block to harden the rosin and gather it up. With the PTFE I can leave it in the freezer for hours and pull it out and it’s still butter and won’t gather up. I eventually scraped it as good as I could with a thin piece of metal sheet and am now afraid to waste more rosin using PTFE and ready to go back to Parchment which has worked fine for me but tends to blow out sometimes.

What is the deal with this PTFE stretching like it melted only at 250F? Did I over press it? Why is it so hard to get rosin off PTFE compared to parchment?

weird..at temps like that it should be like shatter.
what was the product used like?

AlphaKronik Tesla OG, Grown with 2 Mars Hydro 300’s in 15gallons of Roots Organics with Fox farm nutrients, cured in jars with boveda packs and sitting at 65% humidity for the past 4-6 months. The color is honey like but so soupy.

Try leaving the PTFE open for a few days...it should setup. I've had the same issue on parchment anyway. Sometimes I find t may be wet or something....I dunno really. But a day or two open and it usually is easier to scrape up.

Sorry I meant to add I have no experience with PTFE...only parchment.

I figured it would work about the same just without the tearing concerns using the PTFE. I think letting it sit and cure sounds good. I’m guessing that might off gas any moisture left in the rosin. The video I watched on YouTube using Oil Slick made it look so easy, the guy just scraped it up with such ease. Maybe it’s the strain. I do remember the Tesla description saying it was a very terpy cbd strain.

Hey Joe. Different situation since I use the Source Turbo to make oil. I have noticed the longer I leave the lid of the container of the final product the more it stiffens up. Hope that helps.
