Hello,

I’m having trouble diagnosing my seedlings for Rust bacteria. And if it is Rust bacteria would spraying neem oil as a preventative measure be ok for the plant? It’s currently three weeks in. Does Rust bacteria spread like PM? What causes Rust bacteria? And if it ends up not being Rust bacteria what is it? I’m still new to plant sicknesses, any help would be appreciated!

Thank you!

Possibly a phosphate deficiency.. some young plants will do this and then grow out of it.. just watch them for a few days.. don't go hitting them with bloom nutes or anything just yet.. however they or it seems alittle light in color.. more information would help.. what medium are you in? Have you began feeding/fertilizing ? What strain are you growing?( Strain may explain the light color )

Hi thank you for your response!

I'm growing the plants currently in 3 gallon pots and using Happy Frog potting soil with Happy Frog 7-4-5 fertilizer.
I haven't began feeding the seedlings just yet, what week would be a good time to start?
The strains with spots that I've seen were GDP, White Widow, and Pure Indica.

Thanks again!

Well I would rule out the soil then.. happy frog is generally good soil.. sometimes I've got a bag or two with fungus gnats in it... You could start a light feeding now.. they look big enough from what I can see.. but I would go 1/4 strength the dosage..
Are them strains from the same breeder/seed bank?

Alrighty sweet, and yes all the seeds came from the same breeder. Most of the other seedlings I have growing don't have the spots like the other select few.
I've gotten three different strains from the same breeder and all three did the same thing yours are doing.. they just grew out of it.. just keep an eye on them and keep us posted on the progress.. good or bad..

I’m sure I’m starting to sound like a broken record by now, but I’m almost certain that’s mag deficiency. I had a problem with it when I made my own soil, and I added untreated coco. Treated, my plant is doing great. Then I had a few plants in different soils. I had a problem with mag in straight ocean forest and happy frog. If I understand correctly calcium and magnesium are symbiotic in plants, so it may be that both are off... if you’re a synthetic guy just buy a cal-mag product. If you’re organic, gallon of RO, 3/4 cup of epsom salt, and some aloe Vera.

Is the pot being saturated when you water?

Looks like the soil wet around the stem but dry enough at the edge to pull away from the side of the pot.

I would water only evenly all round the pot to about 20% runoff. And wait days for it to dry out before doing anything else so I can see improvement or if needing fertilizer.

I would not feed a young plant in happy frog for 3-4 weeks with a healthy plant.

The marking you are calling rust spots look like damage from to much light or heat and or poor air circulation. Not something that happened recently, it looks like it happened some time ago and you are seeing the damage now IMO.

lets start with what you do know, like
what is your soil, watering habits, fertilizer? temps, light source, air exchange.
makes guessing quicker

got that with some compost, ended up tossing that bag because im pretty sure they caused my root aphids

Damn you sure right... maybe I meant 3/4 a tblspn.

Generally you want about a tsp/L or quart. 3 tsp/Tbsp so it would be a bit more that a Tbsp/gal. Maybe a dose like that every few waterings and not each time too. Sometimes best to foliar feed it to see if that helps then you're not adding more stuff to the soil that can make things worse tho one dose rarely will hurt anything. If your calcium is too high it can block Mg.

I know this post is older but if anyone can help I am experiencing the same problems and I don’t know what is causing the problem? Plants look decent and are growing but the plant that’s grown the fastest is experiencing this here now and the single blades serrated leaf is cracking looking dead it is also spotting else where as well as far as other plants they don’t seem to have problem but they have been growing too.

Im growing in happy frog I’ve not yet began nutrients w then they are about 18 days from germination. When I water the them it is at pH 6.5 the runoff from that is 6.4-6.5 and ppm runoff is high as hell at 1080 that is right out of the bag I did amend the soil befor planting w perlite. Plants also seem to grow this is what they have been in since the beginning

Temp now 77-80 but at the beginning they did fluctuate reaching althe mid 80’s 1500w led pulling 300w CAN SOME ONE HELP ME !!!!!!!!

Pics reflect what the one plant looks now the second set of pice reflex the past 18 days
