Harvest question

I am growing OG kush. I am only 32 days into flowering, which I believed to be about half of the flowering period for this plant. However, I have seen several threads that state time is not the major factor, rather it is when the pistils change to an amber color. Most state that about half should be amber. Came home today to this, so I am very confused about where my plant is in the flowering stage. I did notice that it is mostly the top of the plant, not so much on the others. BTW, growing two plants, only one is changing color. Pictures attached and much thanks for some advice.

They will swell up and all of the hairs will change colour. They will get fat and dense (usually with any heavy indica strain).

They will change odor. The fragrance will become more apparent as they ripen.

If it is a 10 week strain start checking week 9 for trichs. They will appear clear or milky at first (get a cheapo loupe off of amazon). when you start seeing amber you can harvest. Then next time wait until about 3 out of 10 are amber and gauge which you like best and run that all the time.

I find the leaves do turn autumnal. Like a maple in fall as they start to change colour. But that can be strain and what you like dependant. Do not rush it. Do not rush your cure either or it will taste like shit.

It's all about the trichomes. I don't look at pistils at all for when it's time to harvest. I like my trichs to be 25-50% amber and that's when I cut. As gwheels said you just need a cheap jewelers loupe from Amazon to check them.

If you want a more social buzz harvest slightly earlier when trichs are mostly milky.. more amber equals more couch lock

I referenced it that way because he's growing a kush..
No negatives intended. I should have been a weed teacher in school except i dont listen :D

I just meant it for info only.

and for kush i do prefer a clear to milky to cut the couch lock myself. I just do not really like kush. I like a 50/50 or higher sativa

You have a month at least to go. Pistils change color for a variety of reasons. One is from too much nutes which it looks like you need to back off of.

funny thing is, I've been really conservative with nutrients. been doing about a quarter of what the brand has recommended, but every time has had bad reaction. wondering if soil is the problem. checking ph every watering. just unsure of what is not working

Good chance your soil already has nutes in it, that could be why.
