Can y'all gimme some input on my setup I'm getting ready. Okay so I have a 1000w digi ballast with s solistek splitter. 48"x48"x78" tent, I plan on running a 3100k de 630w cmh and a 400w horti hps. Is this spectrum gonna be good for autos? Will that extra 30w overload the ballast? I also have a cheapy 300w bloomspect led Im gonna start my beans with. 8" 770cfm inlinefan/filter combo.
I'm gonna probably just use promix in 5 gallon Barney buckets<<<< just a 5 gallon plastic bucket with a 5" hole cut in the center of the bottom with a 5" netpot attached with the bottom of the netpot in the bucket for air circulation. So if it hard to picture just flip the 5 gallon bucket upside down and cut a hole and attach the netpot as you would if you were gonna actually use it for growing.

i dont think your ballast will run cmh and hps, and wont run de and se. Ballast is de only or se only. Cmh only or hps/mh only.
Splitters are meant to run two 600 watt bulbs on 1000 watt bllast. And this is not optimal either as they would be under driving the lamps thus chaging the spectrum.

Run one 1000 watter in that room and youre good to go. Everthing else sounds fine, will need to feed at some point too.

I've never heard of anyone running two lights off one ballast but I may not have seen everything yet. :)

I did that years ago with a 5" netpot in the bottom of a 5gal pot. Didn't really see any difference tho but it does air prune roots down there. Drill lots of 3.8" holes in the solid plastic at the top of the net pot.

:peace:

I'd watch those things, I put a splitter on my sun systems acde and another sun systems de hood with a 600 watt lamp in each. one hood connector billowed smoke upon powering. Personally I'd just buy another ballast .

We are talking 30w as opposed to 200w..... Cmh bulbs generally require a low frequency ballast, but there are some de 630w bulbs that run perfectly paired with a 1000w digital ballast dimmed to 75%. Like I said in a previous post, I have no worries on the compatibility of the two lamps running simultaneously, rather if I should run a 4200k cmh with a 400w hps, a 3100k cmh with a 400w mh, or 945w of cmh split 630w 3100 & 315w 4200k?

Yeah right, I always get great results when I intentionally disregard manufacturers directions. You're pretty confident this combo will work flawlessly when everyone is telling you different and some even speak from personal experience. So why are you even asking?

That's the whole fucking point.... The splitter is designed to operate TWO 600w lights from one 1000w ballast, for those of you who are sloooow learners, that is 1200w. I am proposing to run ond 400w hps and one 630w cmh totaling 1030w. The splitter and the manufacturers website state you can operate either TWO 600w lamps or a 600w and a 400w lamps. Not sure why motherfuckers are chiming in that are either misinformed or too lazy to research.

I've been following this worthless piece of solistek hardware from like day one and have never seen solistek state you can run a 600 and a 400 watt lamp together on this with this splitter, if you can provide link to that info I'd be interested . I was so intrigued by the splitter idea I bought one and put a solistek ballast on , hooked it up as per manufactures instruction and as I stated, one hood billowed smoke and that's the last time I even attempted to use the piece of shit. I'm certainly interested in your results. For me a simple workaround was to throw for another ballast , fuck that splitter.

Now that I dig the splitter out it does say 600/400 on the splitter case but in small print "see compatibility chart" , only 600 watt lamps listed there. They also limit support to solistek lamps and ballasts.

Nah the whole reason I said y'all were jumping on the fagwagon is because you had no clue about the technical aspects of the splitter and were making ignorant assumptions. DBkick is making informed posts about a product he has first hand experience with..... Big difference
