I'd slap 3 single row F strips on a 2x2
Depending on how long you veg, a single double row might be enough.

Well, we're looking at a 2x2x3 so he's not going to need a huge board, and since I can get a QB off AliExpress which is not much off the price of that T5 I'd still be tempted by the LED as there's no faffing around changing bulbs and he could maximise the available headroom.

Don't ask me how good or bad these boards are, I'm just the messenger, but if he's talking a 2x2x3 then your T5 fitting is going to struggle to fit give that it's 23"x26"x3". I know I live in Metricland but grew up with UK Imperial measurements, and still happily combine feet, inches and millimeters, but the last time I looked 26" was bigger than 2' so he'd need a smaller T5 fitting but you're still looking at that 3" difference in valuable headroom.

That's the biggest thing I'm thinking about, height, and a board or strips would maximise the available height.

Or he could look at getting a bigger tent, say a 4' high one, which would give him more options in that respect.

I should have gotten a bigger tent from the beginning... well,live and learn, right? I'm definitely learning,thats for sure!!!

I think 1 Quantum board would work amazingly as well, he would be able to put it all the way to the ceiling maximizing his space, they have an extremely low profile. If they got too high he could always dim it down. That's just my opinion.

Well shit, I have bought Rapid LED in the past, as well as A51 and had decent results. But now that I have moved to Costa Rica, things are a little different, so I ended up buying one of the AgroLED lights as it was the only one in stock, as in the only LED light in stock. No I didn’t want HPS, it’s already 85-88 in the room during the day, so...we shall see if I got f@cked, I will let you know. Haven’t grown outdoors here yet, but soon as I build my house, I will use the great LED in the sky.
