Ill have to read through all of this. im thinking of converting a 10x10 room and 12x22 room from 1150w DE's to HLG 600 QB's but unsure if they will produce the same yeilds or quality of the 1150w DE's

I believe there's no question that the quality would be on point. I think the quality is really down to genetics and overall plant health more than the kind of light you use. As for quantity - I believe that a grower who really has everything dialed in could possibly achieve yields that are comparable to those of a DE, using 600w of LED. That said, I think it would be a challenge, and it would take some time to get everything optimized. You'd probably have better off-the-bat results using closer to 700w, or even 750w like greengrassgrower1 is using.

it taketh a real man to strip plants like that!
way to go..
The first time you do it, feels very dirty. Then two days later you see how they grow back and are excited to do it again next run.

I am curious about the side by side results, numbers that is, how bad does the defoliate hurt/help yield, and then the final end product, can we discern the bowl of stripped nugs from that of non-stripped (doubtful.)

what would be a good place to start for a budget build 750w light? what driver would power something like that? or should i look at maybe 3x of the QB260 304 kits? this would be quite a bit more expensive probably around 950-1000 bucks per 3 lights

Yeah $1000 per 4x4 is pretty standard for led just go for the QB kits they are super easy

If you're interested in getting the most bang-for-your-buck, a DIY strip-light would likely be your best option. You can easily get in at under $1/watt with one of those builds. However, if you want something that's easier to put together, three 260w QB kits over a 5x5 would work too.

Edit: if you go with three 260w kits, I'd recommend the XL version, which spreads the boards out. To cover 5 feet of grow space, you'd probably have to hang them high, and you want the boards further apart for a setup like that.

I dont thnk the hlg 600's will out perform a DE. Foot print alone DE has it beat. I have 2 HLG 600's and also a 750 watt cob unit. Id say so far the hlg 600's are equal to a 1000 watt SE fixture in a 4x4, I say so far because I'm only 3 weeks into this LED adventure.

eh i was hoping to halve my wattage yet remain the same yield and quality. if im only going to see a 10-20% electricity savings versus my current DE's i think i'll hold out for another year or two to upgrade.
