And just to be CLEAR, more light sources literally means more diffuse lighting. Diffusion via a frosted glass panel simply spreads out the photons more. The same fucking way that adding more light sources would.

If your running each diode at the same current you will get more penetration packing them closer together you also lose spread. Your saying that's wrong? Or am I just too stoned to understand?

Yes packing them together, you get worse penetration. That is because spreading out the light sources makes the light more diffused, and it is a fact that more diffuse lighting penetrates the canopy better.

There is of course shade, especially in direct sunlight. But there's LESS shade when it's cloudy out, because the sunlight is much more diffused as it passes through clouds instead of just diffusing off of tiny particles in the atmosphere.
