To check your mediums ph -i don't know the ph for my medium, how should i go about finding that?
standard dose for foxfarm is 6 tsp big bloom 2tsp grow big. i cut the 6 tsp in half, and did an eighth of the 2tsp because i was getting slight nitrogen def.
6 - 4.5 - 4.7
mag - 0.60% no cal
some rust spots on bottom leaves, yellowing too, what should i use for calcium? - using soil btwTo check your mediums ph -
If it's soil use the slurry method. Or use a ph stake.
If you're in hydro, measure your waste. Ppms are more reliable this way, running hydro too.
If your ferts truly don't contain calcium. Then you need some. It's what it looked like to me.
Check the ph first. Because it could just be low. Double check there definitely isn't calcium too. Are there any rust spots, or any yellowing on your bottom fans?
If you're running soil, bare in mind it may contain calcium already.
You need to determine you mediums ph. Before making any kind of move. A low ph will lockout calcium.
At the same time if the ph is in range. Like a tad over 6. I'd say you just need to give some calcium.
This is why you gotta find out your ph.
I'm sorry OP.some rust spots on bottom leaves, yellowing too, what should i use for calcium? - using soil btw
I'll be testing the ph of the soil tonight with the slurry method, just have to go out and get distilled water. i'll get back to you around 8-9pm (est).I'm sorry OP.
But I'm not going to say until I know your ph. I care, and don't want to wing it with my advice. It could even be sulphur too. Ph is important.
Although if you feel like winging it yourself. This chart will really help you

Not a problem. No worries.I'll be testing the ph of the soil tonight with the slurry method, just have to go out and get distilled water. i'll get back to you around 8-9pm (est).
the best ph for the soil would be 6.5-7 then, right?
got to test one of them, their stems are red, it read between 5.90 - 6.2Not a problem. No worries.
Imho 6.5 would be ideal. 6 - 6.5 for veg. 6.5 for flower. Probably no higher than 6.8. Remember dope are acid loving plants.
Sounds like a good plan mate.
Give us all an update, when you find out.
Take a sample from the top, and bottom if you can. Then compare the two results. Dig a few inches into the surface for the top sample too. You shouldn't need more than a tablespoon for each sample.
Good luck OP.
I'll help determine your supplement once we know
is there a possibility this is just the strain?got to test one of them, their stems are red, it read between 5.90 - 6.2
Do you have any lime? Not much. But a little. A small handful maybe. Rough the surface soil up a little. Kind of like a plough. Grind the lime to a fine powder. Spread it evenly. Water it right in.got to test one of them, their stems are red, it read between 5.90 - 6.2
what's a good calmag bottle i could use (just need a reccomendation, dont wanna blindly buy something)Do you have any lime? Not much. But a little. A small handful maybe. Rough the surface soil up a little. Kind of like a plough. Grind the lime to a fine powder. Spread it evenly. Water it right in.
If you want a quick calcium fix. You can use a little gypsum. Though it won't raise your ph like lime.
I'd just use straight tap water for a little too. It's probably the nutes you're using. You've probably just been a little generous.
Red or purple stems are usually sulphur, or phosphorus. Usually....
I'd say this is the case with yours. Imho it's a lockout problem.
Before you lime. As a once off a small dose of calmag wouldn't hurt either. Small though. Less than half.
Good luck OP
Any doesn't really matter.what's a good calmag bottle i could use (just need a reccomendation, dont wanna blindly buy something)
and as for the lockout, how can i get rid of that?Do use it as a supplement too. I'm serious.
Just give it one dose. That's all.
All you really need is a little cal. Calmag is chelated. It's formed ions, straight out the bottle. Meaning it's instantly available. This is why I suggested you dose much less than the recommended. As a once off. Twice at the very most.
Lime raises your ph.and as for the lockout, how can i get rid of that?
