Lots of problems with this fan. Ive had two and the local hydro store wont stock them anymore. All but one he sold came back. 1 of mine stopped osculating then stopped working a little later and the other went up in a shower of sparks when I turned it back on after gardening.

Hope yours is a good one but just keep an eye on it. They do work well and are handy size.
You know if I had read the reviews on the fan I wouldn't purchased it. That being said I did read them after I ordered it and when it was being shipped. I was expecting it to break right away.
They have a large sheet of paper with bold print saying don't point the fan down more than 20%( I think it was 20%). This was on top of the instruction manual. I think if you point them down even a little it burns/strips out the oscillating gears.
I keep mine level and no problems so far. I wouldn't adjust them while on as I'm sure I would break it. It's been working great so far.
Would I recommend them to a friend No
Would I buy another one Yes
Cheers

Bell Helmets had the greatest slogan I've ever heard back in the late 60's to early 70's....

" Got a 10 dollar head, buy a 10 dollar helmet "

Buy cheap....get cheap. You got what you paid for.

I've learned in this cannabis growing game, Buy junk....get junk. Fail......which costs how much?
Saving a few dollars over quality is never a bargain imo.

Expensive doesn't always mean better though, sometimes expensive just means you're buying a shit product with a fancy brand name stamped on it. Secret Jardin is a perfect example of this, even their tents are fucking over priced trash.

Sometimes it does, sometime it doesn't.
If I need equipment I shop by application. Not price. I choose the best equipment for the job and shop price second.
I pick out what will work for my situation and make sure it's oversized for the job. You can always dial back. But you can't dial forward.
I'm coaching a guy right now who forever buys on price first. Then wonders why his setup doesn't work.....fuck dah!

If I’ve ever realized a lesson in this industry, as far as equipment and meters go..you get what you pay for.

Agreed Manc...pretty much the way life is in general.
There are SO many variables in this game that can ruin your crop. Get one wrong and you get mediocre end results.

I wish it was that easy. What about spin, lies, half truths. I bought a new 4x8 grow tent about a month ago for just under $300. The AD had all the right words (lies) and it was not the cheapest one. The tent killed most of my flowering plants due to off-gassing, which it was not supposed to do. So I bought another 4x2 exactly like the first one, because it is TRIED AND PROVEN.. The seller of the tent gave a full refund and does not want the tent back. Gee, I wonder why.

As much as I credit the seller for stepping up, it would appear to me the seller knew full well they were selling cheap garbage from China. I prefer to buy locally when I can. I want to touch and feel it first. I want a shop window to throw it through if the fool refuses to refund me.

Oh shit man...I never thought of that happening but I guess it does. Fark!!!
I think gorilla make some of the best tents. I thought their add an extra top section option was pretty smart. Get an extra foot or 2 with a add-on section.
They also seems to have superior zipper and reflective material.

Damn dude, what companies tent was it ?
I bought a cheap Mars Hydro tent after my Secret Jardin light leaking tearing piece of crap. It was cheap, made in China, is super thick and tear resistant, had no off gassing, and is actually better built than my buddies Gorilla grow tent outside of frame strength (no one that I have seen builds stronger frames than Gorilla).

Not yet. I will know in about 10 weeks as i gave cuts of it away and they just were flipped too flower.
I'm going to be using it next in my indoor run alongside the gg4 and blueberry.
The outdoor plants are more of a test to see what does well outside.
Only the Power Plant was recommended for outdoor in my area. (I was going to add Texada Skunk this year from PeakSeeds but Canada Post lost my order)
I'm also going to test with some 55gal diy self irrigation planters.
Let's hope we have better weather this year.
Cheers

To be fair it sounds like you bought a Secret Jardin dark street series, which are more affordable due to thinner material, and cheaper zippers and poles, fittings. Ive had a secret jardin 4X8 and have had zero issues with it. It even kept my crop dry when my basement flooded last year.

I will agree that Gorilla makes a heavier duty product, but the price and lack of doors are a downside. Definitely going to purchase one whenever my 4X8 gives out as the extra height is a big selling point for me.

I love it when folks like you think of quality first. Very smart plan. Figure out what is good and decent....then shop for a price on that item. That's the way I do it. I find the right tool for the job and then the best deal on that tool.
Cheap can bite you in the arseholius area.
