Can I defoliate again??

Hi all, just wondering if it would be ok to defoliate for a second time to allow more light to bottom of plants. First time was in veg. Its the second week of flower now. I know I shouldn't take pics with lights on but how are they looking to another set of eyes. Also I went and purchased a dehumidifier as was in desparate need but it only brings humidity down to 52% from 66% while increasing temp to 28 from 26c is that ok? Started with 10 from seed now have six females, I'm running in coco coir x2 400wt hps in a 240x120x200 tent with with extraction fan, carbon filter a pedistal in and another running fresh air in also dehumidifier crystals to help with excess moisture. Also could anyone shed light on what this book from 97 is saying in relation to flower period.?

I have single and double defoled. Can't say one way or the other, but this grow I probably should double down. I just forget when to do the second

My two are on the last day of week 2 flower as of tomorrow, so I just defoliated a little in the middle between the main tops wherever large fan leaves were.
And 1/3 around the last set of fan leaves underneath, where leaves were close to my soil.
Took off a good litte bit though. I also cut off the bottom 1/3 of each branch or the bottom set of fan leaves/nodes. Where the leaves were really big, but the bud growth would have made very small popcorn buds and I wanted/needed more airflow underneath. And that growth will shoot up to the main tops.

Also take note that this is my first grow, so maybe not the best advice to take. Just being honest.
I could of taken off more fan leaves off each main top probably, but I'm being careful.

No, cannabis is a very resilient plant....just one thing though....don't feed them full strength nute before you defoliate the plants, otherwise you end up overfeeding and run the risk of some nute burn.

No, cannabis is a very resilient plant....just one thing though....don't feed them full strength nute before you defoliate the plants, otherwise you end up overfeeding and run the risk of some nute burn.

This, I made sure that my next feeding/watering was a basic pH watering with a little calmag.
And no they did not go into shock, I watered them so they look a bit droopy maybe?
I made this mistake before and I got nute burn and all sorts of problems feeding them then defoliating/topping.

petflora..how far is that plant in flower?

~30 days since first pistils, but I screwed up from the beginning. When I transferred the babies from the starter tent I neglected to reset the light schedule in the flower tent to increase daylight hours, so I wound up seeing pistils at 3 weeks. I reset the hours, but 'damage' done, left with mostly single blade leafs. Not to worry, as you can see there are a ton of them, so plant is getting plenty of chlorophyll

I did a bit of lower defol yesterday as it was so full of leafs, no light could get through, and I was concerned aout mold. FYI, I do have a large circulating fan running 3/20 minutes 24/7. It runs off the same timer as my flooming pumps in both rezes.

For sure pet flora, I had purple stems in veg a little hygen humibooster fixed in two days. My ph meter just shat itself so I'm just running my normal nutes hoping its all g till I get another. Also pet flora did you veg till pre flower or force with 12\12?

Also there seems to be a whole community if those who swear not to defoliate but I just don't see the harm when I've done so previously. Each to their own I guess.

Bottom stems turn purple/red reguardless of cal/mag. Mine get cal/mag regular. But we all have opinions.

The suckers I can understand, and I do the same thing throughout flowering to try and keep flower production on those nice thick branches that will bulk up, rather than the small shitty popcorn stuff that can develop if allowed to grow unchecked.

When people talk about topping, there's research that demonstrates how and why it works due to redistributing plant hormones into the new growth. However, I have yet to find any legit research that demonstrates any benefit of removing healthy leaves from your plant to aid in flower and fruit development. Matter of fact, everything I've read shows the opposite, and the results of side by sides I've seen demonstrate that leaf removal is detrimental, not beneficial, to flower development.

So why do people do this when there's no scientific basis demonstrating a benefit other than stoner lore?

Personally, I think it's just a case of "shave off the pubes, and the package looks bigger", when in reality, it's not.
