I have to leave the town for 8 days. Could I foliar buds with water to prolong the drying process? How does it effect taste, color, weight?

I wouldn't, re hydrate when you get back, put in jar or bag and add piece of bread ( I like this best) or orange peel, banana peel etc

Yes this will work exactly the same if you have them. Messing about with the drying process is a bad idea, unless you definitely cannot avoid it

Why so? I just cant understand, distilled water does not contain anything, so what can go wrong?

First your spraying water on to the trichs, instead of vapour naturally impregnating the bud. Any sort of adding liquid while in the drying process isn't going to be good. Iv never done it so I can't honestly say or answer your question definitively but imo it's not a good thing to do

The drying period after harvest is critical to prevent molds and fungi. I dry mine slowly in doubled paper bags and have to dump them out into a tray every day for the first week to loosen the clumps gently and let them air dry for a bit. Takes about 2 weeks to get them slowly dried down to the point where they can go into cans for another month of burping to get me the smooth smoking buds I love.
I would have let them sit in the dark on the plants until I got home then harvest when I could attend to it properly.

Mold can take hold above 60% humidity. The spores are everywhere.

As above mold spores are everywhere and leaving damp bud alone for days is a good way to make it an issue. Shit grows fast.
