There may only be shitty LED systems on the market now, but that has nothing to do with LEDs themselves... LEDs are very easy to DIY, so that bull about cost is, just that, bull... Specially if you look at it over time, factor in replacement HID blubs and over all power used/saved...

You're the one perpetuating myths, YOU show the world how the production of an LED system warrants the cost in comparison to HPS

You ever wish you could look back and say you remember exactly when the future became the present? Its right now, this is it. LEDs have started to replace HIDs in a very shabby way ($900 for a UFO, wtf?), but that will change. HIDs are dinosaurs and in a world that is using more and more energy everyday, 600w and 1000w HIDs are going to be too expensive.

HIDs are dinosaurs? LOL I'd rather have a dinosaur that produces large quantities of quality bud, but hey-- i'm not growing for "personal use" like you probably are. By the way, if you are so concerned about saving energy, you're in the wrong game.

I always say, grow however you want, but I think people who bash LEDs are either really dumb or are trying to keep people using a method that is detectable.

it doesnt matter how much it costs per watt. LEDs dont have enough lumens per watt compared to HID. and no, LED watt isnt related to HID wattage.

Just an FYI, these CAN be detected by thermal because they DO produce heat... No way to produce light without producing heat.

Try finding out some actual factual information before you rush to judgement... I say $.70 a watt is a good deal for lights that last 100,000 hours.... and LED light is 4x stronger than HIDs, so you need 1/4 the power....

1) I never purchased an LED system, but I don't need to to know that LEDs produce light, which also produces heat.

2) Ignore me, but whether you like it or not there will be plenty of people stopping by to tell you that LEDs are the biggest waste of time on the planet (next to picking your ass of course).

Admittly, there are many more poor LED grows out there, but usually, a seasoned grower can spot the many problems in those grows that have nothing to do with LEDs. If you can't tell the difference, just PM me, I'll tell you.

You need to find out how they grew and what LEDs they used. The 5mm were barely useable, but the newer .4 watt 10mm LEDs are amazing. They're like 20x the lumens of the older 5mm LEDs... And they run so cold the leaves can grow right around them and even hold them down.

Its ok though. Your type said the samething about CFLs back in the day... I would expect nothing less from the trolls when it comes to LEDs...

Not that my place on politics matters here or anything, but I understand how fucked this country is regardless of who cons their way into presidency.

If over the next year or so they produce LED systems that can compete with HPS system production, not only will I change my opinion, I will change the way I grow... but based on how everything has gone with the two lighting options, I don't think that's going to happen
