Passed THC screen, will I pass confirmation GC/MS?

I am a wreck. Up for the job of a lifetime. I stopped smoking over 60 days ago but because of my usage and my size I was still peeing positive on home tests until just a few days ago since when I have been getting a very faint line. Test is coming up tomorrow and I was so unsure I sprung for a real lab test today, self-pay. Well the good news is I passed the THC test! The bad news is a prescription drug I take, Effexor, caused a false positive for PCP. It is known for that. They said they will let the medical officer know and he is going to call me.

Now this was just a practice test. I expect when I go in for the big daddy real test tomorrow, the same thing is going to happen. So the medical officer will call me, and I will provide my prescription details. The question is this, is he now REQUIRED to run a confirmation test, or will he just take the prescription as good enough (who does PCP anyway, it's from the 80s)?

And if he is required to run the follow up GC/MS test, will it just be run for PCP or will it be for everything? And, if it is for everything, am I in danger of failing the THC since I am clearly hovering just below the cutoff? Specifically, if I passed the immunoassay in the lab, and also passing on home tests, will I pass a follow up GC/MS if it comes down to it?

OK this is my first time posting here. Are you guys just being funny? Because I am freaking out and really just wanted some simple information.

Just make sure you're hydrated. I was in a similar situation once, and I passed the at home test. I pretty much failed the test they gave me because my urine was really, really concentrated. I convinced them there was a "line" though, and they liked me. Also, it's not guaranteed that all tests will produce the same false-positive. I think someone would have to work in the industry to give you a specific answer, but I feel like the odds are in your favor. As long as you are below the threshold that is allowable to count as Passing, it won't matter of a MS detects THC or its metabolites, and the test you took was designed to test for that level. I say you're good.

Instant urine test passed = gcms passed basically..

Ive passed urine tests less than 12 hours after smoking without trying to falsify it. (Was occasional toker then).

It is highly unlikely you'll pass the GC/MS, research it and you'll understand. It is damned ultra sensitive. What do they sample? If hair you'll never pass as it is analogous to a time machine. Gov't/high security clearance job?

I have been researching it and have found opinions on both sides, which is why I posted here. It is just a finance job, just a urine screen and follow up test if it is failed. I won't fail it for THC but will have a false positive for PCP.

I used to routinely run GC/MS in my biochem research and was playing at the nanogram level, that was years ago and now they deal in femtograms. There are a lot of variables; column type/length/age/cleanliness, solvent, injection differences, and operator experience

I assume you will tell them about the Effexor, even get a note from the doc who prescribed it saying you take it, and then chances are they'll not be bothered about the PCP thanks to the prescription meds.

So you have a prescription for a drug that shows up as PCP on a drug test. Sounds like the perfect excuse to do some PCP and have the night of your life
