I'm growing 3 Durban Poison plants under a 300 watt galaxy hydro. They're doing well under it but I'm switching to flower in a week and I'll need more light. I've been getting contradicting advise from people so I'm asking here. I'ts a small tent so I cant fit another LED in there, I do have a 85 watt 6400k CFL though. Should I hang the 85 watt cfl with my 300 watt LED or get something else?

You will want more than that 300w panel for sure, will it flower your plants, yes it will be to maximize yield I would add some supplemental light,

The CFLs will work for sure IDD throw a few of them in around the lower section of the canopy, as those panels don't penetrate that great

Any extra light you can give them will increase yield etc.
I'm sure at some point someone will jump on this thread telling you to buy a quantum board, cob or some other diy self build light.
Buy a couple of standard led bulbs and remove the defuser and use them to supplement the galaxy hydro.

image.jpeg The one 300w should be fine. I'm using a 90-115w qb type situation in a shorter tent. I kept the light 12-16" away until it grew into the cab and I entirely lost headspace. Now the lights is a center source to a square of colas. Pretty efficient to get the led right up close to the plant.

Then there's a tallboy fan in the corner to oscillate air and a 4" scrubber exhaust. This is a hubbabubbasmelloscope at 51days at 95ish watts power used in lighting.

Your lights are a lot more efficient than his.

yea I'm just thinking about heat. its going to get hot for him in there. He for sure could just double up lights when flowers boom. Talk about hot and heavy..
Edit. Yea his is 140w heat to deal with still.

You clearly made very good use of your light, they look great. I'm having some trouble moving the light any close than 20 '' cause they keep drooping when I move the light down. Not sure what I'm missing cause I've got fans on them all the time and sufficient ventilation.

Do you keep a thermometer in there at canopy height?
