is it magic @OzCocoLoco
.... well the symptoms are spot on of that of calcium def. So I added cal mag but didn’t really help. Foliar sprayed the cal mag instead and that helped significantly. So I guess that’s how I deduced it was nutrient lockout.PH is only a measure of hydrogen particles you just don’t “get” PH issues there’s always a cause and that is ......
Cheers bro yeah I’ve toned my nutes down last couple of weeks that big cola looks much better since I flushed and re adjusted the nutes... I’m gonna be busy soonlookin good!
Careful of that nute burn.
Usually it’s caused by too many salts in the media. When people talk about salts in terms of nutrients they aren’t talking about sodium they mean ionic salts.is it magic @OzCocoLoco
im not gunna act like i kno cuse i dont but if heard those terms i no theres nitrates n shit but in terms ofthe nutrients arny thay minarol salts from rocks or some thing but like very very pureUsually it’s caused by too many salts in the media. Lockout is only a symptom of the issue, foliage feeding is a good way to get around the issue especially in soil as it’s harder to get rid of excess nutrients . Google Mulders Chart and you’ll see how each element interacts with another and search Cation Exchange Capacity (CEC) and see how cations and anions are held a released to the plant.... well the symptoms are spot on of that of calcium def. Now without being a smart arse you are right, I have mainly just been a water “girl” so I’m trying to figure this out...
Cheers, that makes even more senseAll you are doing is washing excess salts out of the media when you flush. Each nutrient is either positively charged (cation) or negatively charged (anion) so if you flush with a dilute mix there’s cations and anions floating around that can bond with the ones in the media making them release and then wash out of the mix more effectively
The difference between an organic nutrient and a salt based nutrient is a carbon molecule organic have, salts don’t. Salt based fertilisers are basically stripped out of ore until only a certain element is left.im not gunna act like i kno cuse i dont but if heard those terms i no theres nitrates n shit but in terms ofthe nutrients arny thay minarol salts from rocks or some thing but like very very pure
i think thats what i mant 2 say i was reading yesterday about that yester day oddly enough about the carbon thing but i forget lol b4 i 4 get i was curios about the npk of the nutes ur trying and the npk of what house and gardanThe difference between an organic nutrient and a salt based nutrient is a carbon molecule organic have, salts don’t. Don’t know either of them,I don’t bother with NPK values too much as the numbers they give are minimum values so there could be more of any or all of them. Ratios and balance is more important than totals total amounts of individual nutrients as are results and consistencyi think thats what i mant 2 say i was reading yesterday about that yester day oddly enough about the carbon thing but i forget lol b4 i 4 get i was curios about the npk of the nutes ur trying and the npk of what house and gardan
