Spectrum King LED vs Ceramic LEC for 4x4

Hi guys!

It's been awhile but I'm back in full force. I just moved into an apartment with plenty of space so I'm getting rid of my 2x2 and switching to a 4x4 :grin:

The lights I have: Spectrum King 140W LED and a Mars Hydro 300 (145actual).

I'm down for a little bit of work but I'm not looking to build my own lights if it's a big project.

Should I switch to something different like an LEC 315 or buy another Spectrum King?

I want to stay under 700watts and would love half a pound.

I love my 315. I did grow just under a pound with 1 white widow and 2 sour kush with that light. I have no idea about spectrum king but if you ran them with your 315 you would cover more spectrum. And go with a 4 k bulb from start to finish. ;)

Do you think I'd be fine buying a used 315? Someone is offering me one for $150. Or I could buy a brand new one with the Boss feature for $300.

I'd go the 315w LEC in that space, much better production than the two LED's mentioned combined. They can cover off up to 3.5 x 3.5' well and pull a pound with the right genetics. What's the height in that new space?

it is a bit small for a 4 x 4. My next run i will put my vero and maybe quantum board in there and get up to 630 watts in the 4 x 4 with a variety of light spectrum. At the very least it will be 530 watts (200 watts of vero cob and the 315)

The height is 60". I plan on growing 6 plants with their own SCROG setups.

Thanks for the tips. I'm definitely going to purchase a 315

12 oz of bud and 3 oz of larf popcorn for trim with a single 315 CMH and I am just figuring stuff out. This run not so much but it is possible to hit a pound per 315. Better growers than I can do it. Just make sure you were uv shades. That light is killer for your eyes. The UV is pretty nice for trichs though :D
I will take the UV and wear glasses and get a tan.

Ok the reason I asked is 60" tent height is too low to use an LEC unit. The hood itself will have ~12-14" overhead. Then you don't want to get much closer than 20" to the canopy. That means minimum 32-34" overhead before you add plants, say 3gal 10" high pots, and that leaves you with about 14-16" plant height maximum. With that height you should be looking at COBs or QB-style boards, perhaps adding one at a time to your existing LED panels.

It just depends on the intensity and power of your boards. I have a 5' ceiling height and am using them just fine.

I think a strip build would be best. OP seems to not be too interested in much DIY though.

Make sure it's a low frequency square wave ballast nanolux is not I assumed it was like a dumbass haha
