So basically I’m really impatient but just wondering on when I should give up on a clone will add pictures later of them some of them have been in the medium for over week and a half still no sign of roots anywhere in cup but the leaves are still all green and not yellowing misting them couple times a day but how long should I wait before saying fuck it they are obviously not gonna root
I've had roots in 5 days and I've had Roots take longer than 3 weeks.. a lot of it is strain and condition dependent
-good luck!

I build my own clone tubs. Save tons of money.
I use small net pots with red lava rock.
So if I do a hydro run on a ebb and flow table I just take the small net pots and place in 6 inch net pots with the lava rock. I don't use rockwool.
Now if I do dirt grow I take the clone in the small net pot and empty it in my hand and grab the clone that's rooted and plant in dirt.
Simple and cheap.

Even taking that into account although ive NEVER had a clone take so long......it would be in the bin by then.......the work it saves alone is worth buying one......pretty much set and forget.....what more do you want.......and for £50...no brainer for me.....

I stick em in pre-mixed seed sprout soil in styrofoam cups in cabinet under a 6500K CFL and flouro and usually wait weeks to transplant. Can tell when they take root because you will see upward growth. All these pics are clones...2 AK-48 just transplanted.

Ya mine are just in fox farm organic soil all I had was clear cups so they are set inside styrofoam cups and are under 110w led right now I’m at like 50/50 loss rate so I’ve looked into getting just some humidity domes

That FF soil isn't helping, it's kinda hot to be cloning in. I'd cut it 50-75% with perlite for cloning, or use straight perlite. Solo hempy cups work great.

With a cloner, like a bubbler or mister you don't need a humidity dome. But with soil or soilless you do and also need to spray, you also need the medium to be a good temperature.
Ive used most methods and had nearly 100% success rate with all of them.
These days I just fill a seedling cell tray with perlite and put an inch of water in the bottom of the propagator tray and leave them alone, no misting or dome needed, although it might take a few days longer than a aero cloner.

Cloning is one of those things, once you get used to the environment been right its piss easy. You will get the hang of it and have more clones than you can shake a stick at soon enough.

Ya my space that I have to work with is really against me unfortunately not really room for cloner or humidity dome plus can’t keep the cats away from the shit

Hopefully going to be moving into my parents old house soon then I plan on trying to set up a perpetual grow area do you guys feel like turning a clone into its own mother plant degrades the genetics at all after a certain amount of times some say yes some say no..... in theory would like a mother plant for about a year cuz by that time it would be huge even with training and would have produced potentially hundreds of clones then flower mother and turn the best looking clone into a new mother plant and start all over again

I live in desert and grow in soil and never used a dome or even mist/spray....just water and wait 2-3 weeks under 6500K CFL and some flouro tubes. All 4 in pics are clones...2 Maui and 2 AK-48

I do cutting at an angle with very sharp razor and dip in growth hormone powder from Lowes

I have heard it does, but I don't buy into it. I have kept mothers for more than a year and not seen an issue, but I don't really keep mums anymore, just take clones from vegging plants and then flower the veggers when the clones are rooted and repeat.
There are guys on here who claim to be running the same strain from the 70s so like I say I don't buy the genetic decay theory.
That's just my opinion.

That’s also a good idea Cory i can understand that thinking it makes more sense probly then trying to keep a mum for a year I just figured the yields would be substantial enough to make up for her being alive for a year

My grow is time sensitive (perpetual )so the cloner gives me at least 1 MORE week in veg where 4 week veg becomes 5..........tell me the £50s not worth it now.........like my freind Corey says, when your system...no matter wot it is,is dialled in you'll have more clones than you need.....any method works it just a case of wot suits your situation. .....

Do your extra clones wind up at the back in some corner in small pots like mine? lol

two on right side in pic (one budding has slung pollen from two different strains)
