The UN for the 1st time has put the US on a list of countries that violate international laws that protect refugees
The UN has called on the United States to stop detaining irregular migrant families and separating children from their parents on its border with Mexico, saying that the acts broke the law.
Several hundred children, (not counting the over 1500 taken and missing), when crossing the southern U.S. border have been held in custody since October 2017 following an executive order issued by President Donald Trump when he took office in January 2016, it said Tuesday.
"The U.S. should immediately halt this practice of separating families and stop criminalizing what should at most be an administrative offense – that of irregular entry or stay in the U.S.," U.N. human rights spokeswoman Ravina Shamdasani told a briefing in Geneva yesterday
"Entering a country without the relevant papers should not be a criminal offense... so these people should not be detained," she said, adding that some children were very young, including a one-year-old infant.
Good job Trump, now we are on the same list as N. Korea, China, Syria, Somalia, Turkmenistan, Libya, and Saudi Arabia.
These are places where people suffer from some of the most severe, systematic abuses of human rights on the planet, and now we have joined just the fucking club.
Fucking Trump is killing our country, and our standing in the world community, and it hasn't even been two fucking years.
Please, please, please Mueller, do your fucking job, and get this asshole out of office, like soon.
