so this is an Amnesia Haze auto. It's 30 days today. It's only 6" and flowering. I don't have a lot of experience with auto's. Does this look about normal? Seems small to me at this stage. Will it gain much height?

Looks a little bit undersize for it's age but looks healthy, she started flowering abit early compared to the auto's i grow. Mine start flowering around 50 days. To answer your question will it get bigger, yeah probs double in height by harvest, might get 2 ounces if your keep her fed and happy

its normal in the sense it sometimes happens with autos. it wont yield much maybe 14-21 grams dried if you are really lucky. 2 ounces is crazy talk tho

Yeah, I agree. If I get an ounce I will be surprised. Probably won't do the auto again. Traded for some auto seeds. Photos seem to work better for my growing style.

Autos will give you plenty . That's all I grow as of late. Yields vary ... I can get plenty of ounces easily from an auto grow . Those who complain about them , can't grow them , or handle them like regular seeds. There are growers that get very large autos both outdoor and indoor . They are stupid simple. Plug and play .

Since I only grow for myself , I get the quality I seek without having to run long weeks . I get 4 foot plants indoors and sometimes larger. Only certain strains like mighty mite , lowryder , Dwarfy cuts and Ruderalis heavy cuts are fairly small producers. Although some breeder stock can also grow the large single cola shapes too. Most will shape like a rocket / tree . Indicas can grow like " cousin IT " from the Adams family. ( see pic )
image.jpegimage.jpeg

They will grow potent dank Terpy buds , despite the hate about them. They are easy to make FEMMY seeds with , easy to cross . Best performance: 24/0 , 20/4 or 18/6 light cycles. They get big in Hempy buckets and hydro. In soil , you just plant seed in FINAL pot and leave it there. A " loose " peat , coco , perlite added soil ( aerated ) is recommended for fast root setup. They can grow them under CFL , t5/8 , cob , quantum , BLURPLE , hid , sun , whatever.

Certain strains are better than others ... Blue mammoth, sour d , blue dream , Mephisto seeds , and others. I grow in 1 , 3 and 5 gallon peat/soil mix and use 2 part nutes.
No fancy unicorn water , just tap. They will prosper under more light. The more the better.

15-30 years ago is when autos were not as good .... Now the breeding is more stable and are becoming higher performing. Those that say otherwise either can't grow them or treated them like REGULAR PHOTO. For personal meds they are enough to keep the buds coming. I run 2-3 every 2-3 weeks to make perpetual harvesting. As most will finish under 90 days . Some Sativa Dom strains can run a little longer. They are Plug and Play , and ONLY need simple feeds and care ... They can stress easier and do not have the time to repair themselves like regular seeds but if you give it the proper care during the first 5 weeks ( early veg / sex / PREFLOWER stages ) it will be ready to just flower. So unnecessary overwatering , Overfeeding , defol or other shit will impact the end product.

It will double in size ... It will continue to branch even after sexing ... Give it time .
Let it do its thing.

This is exactly the kind of stuff I came to rollitup for. I signed up today as I'll be attempting my first grow soon. First attempt will be Blue Dream feminized autos under a quantum board in a RWDC setup. Do you have any detailed grow journals or threads or know any members that have shared any useful information? I just want to get the nutes and light cycle bang on. Cheers mate.

Not sure what I did there. Looks like I just edited your original post. I'm obviously new to this kind of thing.
Sounds good. I may have done something to stunt this one. The only thing I can think of might have been over water a little. I'll be careful about that in the future. Thanks for the feedback.

That is completely normal. In my own experience, the larger the pot size is the longer the plants go before they start flowering, as well as when you start giving them bloom or high P ferts. I use 5 gallon buckets in DWC and my auto's veggy not a day less than 4 weeks. Even then, they show sex, but continue producing foilage for another 1 or two weeks. But I don't give bloom ferts until after 4 weeks, so this may be a reason why mine grow so long. In 5 gallon deep water culture, my plants tend to get as big as a regular photoperiod plant...hence my avatar picture, which are all auto's and about 6-8weeks old (can't really remember).

By using only N you can hold back the flowering... kinda?

Outside in 5 gallon bags in Alaska. I have autos 3' tall that have not started to flower. Last year some hit 5'. A seedling in a 5 gallon bag seems ridiculous until they root and start to shoot.

Well, I'm limited to my own personal experience so its tough for me to say for sure, but for me it seems like keeping a higher N than P diet (just your normal veggy stage ferts) extends that preflower stage where it shows sex but continues producing foilage by a little while. And yeah Harley they can get pretty monstrous when they have enough root space! They shattered my expectations!
PS- You would never want to only give N, I just mean that by giving it vegetative stage nutrients instead of bloom nutrients, it may extend the veggy stage. You never want to only use N or any one nutrient.

I had an auto look like that at around day 11 (no joke). I try to grow any auto (in veg) with as little as stress as possible. Autos are hard. Its like you have to have a perfect run FOR big yields. Anything else and youll get maybe 1-4 ounces(maybe less). Theres a site dedicated to autos its call AFN(Autoflower Network). Some gems on there for growing big autos. Another thing, stick to well known breeders like Fastbuds or Memphisto.

Does anyone here run auto's in hydro? I run them in 5gal buckets in deep water culture and I swear, you'd never know they're auto's...the pic I use as my avatar is THC Bomb auto and Tran Siberian Auto at about 4-5 weeks old, and they got a hell of a lot bigger even at that rate. So when it comes to DWC, I would dare to say that they yield very similar to photo's, with the added disadvantage of a pre determined vegetation period and lower tolerance to the fuck up's that us growers tend to make.

Im not in dwc but I know autos have come along way. That much is undeniable. I also believe,by experience, that autos are more vigorous than photoperiods. Theyre slowly catching up to the potency of photoperiods too.

Ran them in a hempy bucket ( 3:1 perlite/ vermiculite mix ) and was in a small kids sand pail.
It got pretty damn big .... so maybe running a 3 gallon version may do even better.

It was an old CFL grow , but the damn thing grew well.
Simple seed pop in a rapid rooter , then buried in perlite. Simple 2 part nute ( dynagro grow and bloom ) - added some silica during watering .

It does look small for it's age but looks very healthy, flowering by day 30 is perfectly normal, try and see if you can make it stretch a bit, move your light back a bit and see if it starts to stretch out, sometimes you get autoflower seeds that just do that it's happened to me once or twice over the years, or may bee she is just a late plant who has not yet hit her growth spurt, I realy can't give much more advice than check your ph, a stuck auto is usaly trying to get rid of too much of something, but your plant looks very healthy so I don't think it's that, you have a long time left to run it, she may just come into her own.
