Nice setup dude. My friend has a 2x2.5' gorrila tent and just started growing again (he was an outdoor grower before) and he has 2x 150w HPS lights but wants me to build him a samsung F series strip light for it after he saw mine. I dont blame him.

How much did you spend? He is looking to spend around $200.

These strips are so nice though. You get much better uniformity and yields than with COBs and even QBs. Which is because of the improved canopy penetration and lack of hotspots, so the plants can process the light much more efficiently. It's too early for me to make this claim since I havent hit flower and started blasting my plant, but I would be surprised if I actually managed to bleach the plant even when the intensity is super high because the photons arent just all hitting the top of the canopy and stressing the plant.

They were 60$ for the five and I had the heatsink on hand. The fan mustv only cost me 3-5$, its 180mm but 200mm would have been bbetter I suppose. You should be able to find a slate hheatsink from heatsink USA or similar for 15-30$ plus some shipping. Drivers are included with the strips. They're put of stock last I checked a week,or two ago but its worth a shot to check aagain on ebay. They adhere to to heatsink by using two strips of 20mm double ssided thermal tape. Once they are on they are a sob to Gget off so get it right first time.

Yeah I am thinking doing something similar to my current strip build (in my sig) instead of using a slate heatsink to get better spread and penetration. I have 10 2 foot strips in mine and the 1" heatsink was only $60 to my door. U frame would have been half as much. The 1" heatsink works really fucking well, too. Overkill probably, but my strips sit at 50c at 75% power and my friends build with U frame sit at 60-65c at 50% power.

And no kidding about the thermal tape. I used thermal tape for my strips too and it is some STICKY stuff. I was worried the ends of the strips might start sagging/falling off after reading a post about it but there's no way with the thermal tape I used.

My 3x3 build (320w) was about $400 but I went overkill. Could have done it for $300 probably but i liked this design so much better. So I am hoping for a 2x2.5 I can do it for half as much. Aiming for 200-250w.

Sweet yea u channel is the tits. I built a ten strip tci light using u channel cut to 17" lengths and laid flush side by side.

Yeah it is. Although I see some people use it upside down and put the strips inside of the channel instead of on the bottom of it and they're cutting their 120 degree beam angle off haha. I might order a bunch of it to build some more lights. The heatsink i used is much better, but i think i can really build the lights cheap if I use U frame.

All of my friends want me to build them lights now though lol. I showed them mine because I am proud of how it turned out and they all want to switch from their CMH/HPS lights over to the samsung strips now. I can't blame them though. They are blindingly bright, low power/heat, easy to work under, provide very even light, and don't even cost that much. My friends are all cheap asses so it's been tough convincing them to swap to LED. But once they saw my light they all wanted one lol.

100g jar cured for only a week as of now.

the other 42g of dry nug went into this 50 minute dry ice ethanol soak extraction. We will see how it turned out in a few days. Looks pretty clear to me but i am fairly sure it will still have an electric green tint when all is said and done.

It also could have been that i positioned the filter in a corner and only half of the filter was allowed to draw air in, in turn not filtering the air enough before passing to the exhaust..:-(
