Pic of first grow -- 4 weeks in Veg

This is my first grow. I finally got the nerve to post some pic's online =)

Here are some pic's of my plants about 4 weeks old now being vegged under a T5.... Bare in mind I'm a total noob, and I'm so not a green thumb (I have killed every house plant I have owned!)

How are these guys doing for my first time around?



^^^^^The plants are Big bud and white widows.

The plant on the far left I topped, it isnt as 'filled' out as the others. It had troubles popping up out of the soil. The plant in the upper left is one of the Big buds, they are a lot shorter and bushier then the others.



^^^^^The plant on the lower right is a BB, the rest are WW.



^^^^^The next one is my best plant so far. I noticed all my leafs as the plants were growing went 1->3->5->7->9... This plant went 1->5->7->9->11! Is this normal?

Anyways, how do they look so far at 4 weeks since putting them in soil?

I have a 400 watt HPS setup in my flowering room, I currently have some bagseed plants flowering

(bagseeds were my test subjects, wanted to test various extremes on them, what happens If I dont water, what happens if I overwater, what happens if I dont give NUTES, give too much NUTES, etc... hehehe, what can I say, I'm a computer programmer, gotta test all the unknowns!)

from my expereince thats okay, some phenos are just slightly more vigorous than others. i have a little lady at the moment who went 3-7-9, similar to yours, and others who have had 11 blades, no worries!

nice plants btw. what wattage is your t5?

Did you have them in something else first like pellets, and then planted in soil? So how old are they in total?

They are growing under a T5... 4' fixture.. 4 bulbs... They are 54 watt per bulb, 5k lumens per bulb... So 20k lumens total at 216 watt's. HTG supply had a sweet deal on this for like 125 bucks (with the lights).

The plants themselves, went from those little pots you get when you buy flowers (the very small ones, they come in sets of 6, like a 6 pack) -> 8" pot -> to its final 12" pot (I think they are 2.5-3 gallon pots)?

The plants you see above are exactly 4 weeks old when the picture was taken (4 weeks since I put them in soil).

My biggest concern is overnutting them. It scares the hell out of me each time I have to water my plants with nutes... I just don't know when to give them only water, only a mild nute, or a full heavy nute feeding...

Overall the plants look ok though? Color and everything is good? No visual bad signs at this time?

Hopefully in a couple more grows from now, I will have the expirence and be able to help others =)

They look real good, nice and fat. Are you going to do any LSTing? Now would be the time to start bending and twisting, you won't be sorry you did it.

Regardless, keep up the good work!

Hey bwbig can I ask u a question: when u repotted did you maybe bury part of your plants stem? My plants got some stretching and thought that when I repot maybe I could compensate a little for it by burying the plants up to (or just below) their coty's.

BTW your plants look good.

My plants didnt have too much of a stretch (I think?), but each time I repotted it, I buried the stem maybe 1/2 inch higher then last time (so its stem has been buried around 1 inch since birth). Yes its perfectly fine to bury the stem up to their cotys.

What will happen, is in a couple weeks, the stem thats under the soil, will start developing roots and add more support to the plant.
