Hey man. Will using one of these HLG’s reduce room temps. Conpared to my hps. If so, how much?If this is about the qb288, I love mine!!! I don't know if I could have gotten this with my cfls, it was too hot in the tent, even with 4 fans in there... View attachment 4148995 View attachment 4148996
Depends. What wattage is your HPS? No one can tell you how much of a reduction in heat you'd see by switching to QBs; there are far too many factors involved. But considering that you wouldn't need more than 60% of the wattage you're currently using, you should be able to cool things down a bit.Hey man. Will using one of these HLG’s reduce room temps. Im running a 600 watt in a 4 by 4 closet.Depends. What wattage is your HPS? No one can tell you how much of a reduction in heat you'd see by switching to QBs; there are far too many factors involved. Well you'll want the tent temp to run around 80-85 with LEDs, so if you spring for the new light, turn your exhaust down. Due to the lack of IR in LEDs, the leaf temps tend to be lower, and that affects transpiration.Im running a 600 watt in a 4 by 4 closet.
Im reaching 82 degrees, if i put the fan full blast it gets better, but my pregnant wife hates the noise.
Ive been eying led’s for a while now. This could be my chance lol
Often referred to as "paralysis by analysis"theres a famous saying "more is lost by indecision than wrong decision"
Under white-light LED, yeah, that's the norm. There are a few growers here who have success with temps in the mid-70's, but they are certainly the exception.80-85 for led’s? Is that the norm? Weird i havent picked up on that info .
I can dish out about a grand right now
I appreciate the info brother . I like the QB’s. Extra head room !Under white-light LED, yeah, that's the norm. There are a few growers here who have success with temps in the mid-70's, but they are certainly the exception.
Unless you're interested in going DIY, this would be my recommendation:

Dim it to around 350-400w if you want to equal the 600w HPS. Or run it higher and start pulling more weight.
You wont need that much80-85 for led’s? Is that the norm? Weird i havent picked up on that info .

Im looking at the hlg 550 right now. That or the optic 6You wont need that much
What are your thoughts on the hlg?cant even see how optic 6 is on anybodys list
if you understand efficiency at all its not even in the discussion
@Stephenj32876 im getting my next qb kit from hlg direct... Gotta keep it in Ohio!!!
near the top of the list of available optionsWhat are your thoughts on the hlg?
Only efficiency of the fixture, or also how much light actually ends up on the plants? Because that's where the boards seem to be lacking somewhat compared to other options. Plus perhaps price?my metric is efficiency.
I mostly see the Optic brand lights being pushed by youtube channels who act like they just discovered Cree cobs last week.cant even see how optic 6 is on anybodys list

my main metric i should say. i run in tenets and dont use reflectors on my cobs. mid power diodes throw light at same angleOnly efficiency of the fixture, or also how much light actually ends up on the plants?
