Feeling the pain too. Cleaning out my flooded garage. About a sq. yard of sand and gravel. My basement didn't get too badly flooded so my grow room was ok.
Had some buds drying so I had to move them elsewhere.
The kid is related to friends of ours, really heartbreaking.
I'm on the island and at the top of a hill so we fared better then those down hill. Man what a mess.

My buddy still mourning the loss of his generator last summer. He wakes up with water splashing his face. Alaska so not dark at 0300. He wakes up and sits up in water. The little creek wasn't little anymore and hell was coming. He had a cabin on the other side but obviously couldn't reach it. Had to climb a 1000' ridge behind him, walk down it 2-1/2 miles to the road and then walk another ridge about 3 miles back up to get to it. Moose, grizzlies, black bears all trying to escape the flooding. Him with nothing but boots

Beaches are all closed due to e coli and bacteria infecting the waters. Lake Superior is contaminated

spill over from sewer and wastewater treatment plants. Also possibly cemeteries.

I have a friend in Baton Rouge, I should give him a call.

I'm up on top a hill too in the Calumet area so I was lucky too. My ballasts were in water and same as the electricity tho. I learned never to keep shit like that on the floor. Damn, I almost lost everything. I had almost 2 feet of water in my basement. Luckily I snuck by without loss. But some people not so lucky unfortunately . The 12 year old boy dying in the saddest part for sure. Stuff can be replaced, lives can't!

I have friends and family affected by it also. I didn't know the boy. But it's still very sad to me as I'm a dad too.

I sure feel for you guys. I've been watching coverage on the weather channel of all the flooding. It's just terrible.
And here in Oregon our Governor has declared a drought emergency for several counties, multiple wildfires burning, and we're just getting started with fire season.

Be safe and don't take any chances you don't need to. You can replace material things but you can't replace your life.
