Have any of you used Inkbird thermostats for your cooling/heating?

I bought a old school analog AC to overcome that issue, lots on Craigslist around here

I hear you I got a bunch of analog small ones, 5000btu, but all my big ones are digital. Will just let it run the old way I'm not going to buy another one forget about it thanks anyway man

And with that long compressor off time the Heat went up like a rocket so it really didn't seem like it was going to work out well for me in this particular situation, it's a hot room in the sun late in the day anyway, so.. eh

I have both the humidity and tempature control inkbirds. They work well and are easy to set up.

I use one to control temperature in the tent, it runs the pump on my water cooled light. I use the humidity control on the extraction fan. I originally bought mine thinking I would save mad power but like you say with lights on your burning up plants, once mine kicks on it pretty much runs all day during the hot summer, we only have a few weeks of +80deg here, heck we are still in the 70s been a cold wet spring, when it's hot I still like that it shuts off the AC around dark, then kicks it on around 1000hrs vs the internal AC thermostat that runs the AC fan almost until midnight.... A mini split heat/AC is the solution but for the little bit of personal meds I grow its not in the cards...

I hear you that was my whole intent to shut the damn fan off in between Cycles but when it was maybe 90, even with 4 minute off time for compressor which normally I think it's supposed to be 5 minutes minimum, the temperature went up like a rocket it went from 84 where I wanted to keep it to 90 or whatever it was outside in those few minutes so it wasn't going to work anyway. I feel in my particular case it's best to let the air conditioner work as it was manufactured to function but it will be great for my radiator space heaters in the winter and I think I can even use it on my propagation mat?

My weather sounds like yours, I'm on the east coast and once this Heatwave is over it's going to be about 80 for a high the rest of the summer which is normal, (I don't even run an air conditioner at 80) these 90s are not what we get here on the Coast of New England, at least not often

They work great for heaters and seed mat, I poke the probe in my starter mix so the temp is relevant to what my seeds or clones are experancing, you will get your monies back using them there bro.. Want one that will control humidity next especially for use when I am drying my plants...

I've got the inkbird humidity model controlling buds drying right now! I love it it's really let me tweak my drying game exactly where I want it..!

I just bought one of these off Amazon thinking I could kick my fans in to cool the tent off as needed. I hooked it up and watched as my temps went up and fans wouldn't kick in. Played with it for an hour before looking for answers online.
It didn't take long for Google to let me know that I'm a dumbass and ordered the wrong one. The one I have controls heat only. I checked Amazon to see what I ordered and sure enough....it says "No Cooling option" right in the title. Sigh...
Oh well...I can use this to run a space heater in the winter I guess.

I've got the inkbird humidity model controlling buds drying right now! I love it it's really let me tweak my drying game exactly where I want it..!

I have one I just wired up and was curious as to how you run yours, like what % do you start at? I dried my other previous grows too fast, and now feel like I have a better control over my environment.

I use the temp/humidity combo inkbird in my drying tent. paired with a fan speed controller it is perfect for what I needed.

my main room uses a home built temperature and humidity control like the ones posted early in the thread.

65%, after two days I drop it to 62% and in another day or two depending on how they're drying the bud size and a few other variables I will often reduce it to 60% but not always. I don't think it's necessary to adjust it at all but that's how I do it.

However Bud comes in the drying chamber and goes out, it's not always the same chop it & dry it bud. Sometimes I chopped the tops 1st, and then a week later I take the middle buds, sometimes I'll even chop the popcorn a week later too, when I do that I tend to leave it at 62%.

When the bud reaches 65% (and I test this by putting bud in a jar with a hygrometer) I will jar the bud and begin the curing process

The outside weather also has a factor in where I set it, it's really not a hard and fast rule but this is just how I've been doing it, hope it helps good luck
