New regulations may spark Canada’s craft cannabis revolution

This is all good but if the small guy can't also hold a processing license and/or a license to sell direct to consumer or private dispensaries, the only market would be LP's. That's not a viable model, fuck LP's.

The language in the regulations isn't clear on whether micro growers or processors can also obtain a license to sell direct (e.g. via web site). Has anyone seen or heard anything clearing this up?

It ain’t going to 50$ for about 2yrs if it ever does. Aslong as cops are funded and busts happen bm will go on.

Probably won't make sense for someone to get this if they only have a couple of lights though. Licenses, regulation, testing, taxes, business permits, inspections. Versus just hooking up close friends and family = win/win

It could be viable if you can be a micro/craft grower and sell direct to consumers. In that case you'd need the micro grower, micro processor, and the license to sell direct if that ever gets cleared up/allowed. Otherwise you'll be limited to sell your wares to LP's, at cost if you're lucky. You're right though besides what you listed, rent will be a big part of your monthly costs. There's no growing in your basement if you want to go legal, it'll need some investment and a decent business plan.

For sure, you're looking at $2-3k/month just in overhead before labour. Northern towns can be a little more flexible (with land-use classifications) and cheaper if they have the infrastructure/services available. I'm picturing a Parry Sound or the like. But it really depends on the licensing options available, no hurry to be a slave for LP's myself.

Does anyone have the final regulations yet? I'm still waiting to hear back from Health Canada. Big surprise there. Praying that they don't have to sell to LP's. That would just completely fuck things up right from the get go if that turns out to be the case.
Why wouldn't the government make you sell to LPs?...remember LPs don't want anyone growing but them....and they've already spent millions too....
