The wind helps transpiration rates which can help with cooling (you live in a cold, mostly dark place so you wouldn't need that) cleans leaves, and move dead air away from the leaf surface. Its also strengthens both the stalk and the stems which of cause can increase yields. Wind may also help keep CO2 levels more evenly spaced in the atmosphere as its heavier than O2. (no idea on that to be honest but Co2 is heavier than O2....idk..ask a scientist..)

Ive never seen wind burn on an outdoor plant. Photosynthesis has nothing to do with wind. That's light.

Wind is natural. You said its not. No need to keep trying to get away from that point. So far you have pointed to no science at all, not one science paper, saying wind is not natural or in regard to any other of your claims.

You have just enough knowledge to be dangerous but not enough to be helpful. You say some weird ass shit. Its entertaining in a car crash kind of way. Not just on this thread but all over RIU.

Great advice, even the best LED just gets the job done and generally doesnt compare to hps especially when you factor the cost of new LED technology. I use a 1000w in a 2x4 tent granted i do have to use an ac but thats because its summer and i run them during the day because there is 0 chance im watering my plants in the middle of the night plus i like to simulate their natural living enviroment so i let it get to the low 60's at night. Ill be posting a grow log soon.

If you want a lot of flower you need a lot of power.

Because the cost is the same, not to mention LED' produce heat and burn out if their fans die or slow down too much, a 1000w LED would put off a ton of heat and cost at least 25 times as much as the 1000w i got for 20$ off of craigslist with a ballast

For a 100W lamp to match the results of a 1000W DE, it would need to be 400% efficient, but you thought it would be a good comparison because they cost the same...

Your reasoning breaks the first law of thermo by 4 times.

Even with a 100% efficient lamp, you'd need 400W to match a 1000W DE, and there's no such thing as a 100% efficient lamp.

(given DE efficiency is ~40%)

The grow competitions are way better at showing how good LED can be not the chatter.
I got my ass kicked by several excellent growers with LED. Mostly because I'm a shitty grower.
They did awesome in 16 oz solo cups and seeing it real time was awesome.
I wonder if they will do as well in the next comp that will possibly be in 1 Gal pots.

Talk is cheap.
I know a couple of guys chatting here are considering playing and I hope they do, it will be fun. Others will have plenty of excuses not to play.

When an LED grower has unexpected explosive growth in a comp he gets accused of switching to HPS.
I don't recall an HID grower being accused of sneaking LED into their grow when they have explosive growth. Hmmm!
Sign up or make an excuse it's all good but would be better if you all sign up.
